It looks like there is work being done on the place, it's on the Young Harris Hwy next to City Plumbing. Anyone know what's going on there?

I'd like to see it reopen, the next gas station is almost on the Towns county line and their gas prices are alot higher there for some reason.

Are ya'll talking about Mr. Rose the mason? He built the beautiful stonework around my fireplace.

Actually that was granpa Rose who did the stonework. All of the houses in this area and the old Blairville postoffice had stonework done by him.
Wiseoldman, you have just given away an inkling of your age.......

Wiseoldman, you have just given away an inkling of your age....... I get confused. His son was named Roy I think. One day, many years later the son, very ill at the time and could barely speak, came by just to look at the fireplace. He sat down on the hearth and tears filled up his eyes. He said that this one was one of the the last ones - maybe THE last one, that Granpa Rose built. If I recall correctly, he said that while doing it, he and his father had cross words. Then he went into the service and he and his Dad weren't as close again after that. He wished for the opportunity to help his Dad just one more time. At least, thats how I remember it.

Roy was my step-father and he was in the service. I am not sure when granpa rose died but it was before Roy married my mother.
The kid were Bill, Roy, Bud and I can't remeber her name.

I can still picture Bud riding around in his old green truck with his arm stuck out the window. He used to spend alot of time at Roy Jr's shop running errands for him.
