Someone told me today that there's a new restaurant that serves breakfast being opened on the Murphy Hwy. It's going to be in the old gun store next to pat young's house. I'll be glad to see it!

There's a BBQ joint coming soon to the old gas station on the murphy hwy where the used car lot used to be. I saw a sign up at the place by Young's house, it says "Hilltop Cafe". I can't wait to give it a try.

Short & Mac, the place you are referring to that used to be LaBosco's is now the Mountain Java. When I was up in October I stopped in and met the owner, bought myself a "frou-frou" coffee and some wonderful goodies to take home to hubby for breakfast. I have heard that they are now offering sausage gravy and biscuits for breakfast now, and I know that they have sandwiches and stuff for lunch. I believe that they are open until 5pm and they have free wifi!

Yeah, they are just a little far out for me. Now when the fishing starts back up in the spring it'll be fine.

I know the one you're talking about 2cedarschick but that's not the one I was talking about. The Hilltop Cafe is about a mile north of town on the right next to Young's Wrecker Service. The BBQ place is about a half mile past Hughes Grocery on the right.

If this keeps up we are going to have a restaurant on every corner.

Yes the bbq place they are talking about is called something like Poppies bbq. Hope it's good, it's before the marina on the right, by about Arbor Acres or whatever that's called in the old gas station building.
Hilltop is next to Sav A Lot and opens today or tomorrow. Hope they are both good!

Popies on 129 - I took home two bbq plates and a side of stew, no drinks and no dessert. Came to $28.00 and it was not very good. The only thing we liked was the sweet potatoe fries. The stew (we had been told was good) was so full of vinegar we choked on it. I won't be back and it's on my way home. I am going to try the Seafood 2 Go and let you know.
