The following is an excerpt from the Blairsville Chamber of Commerce. This is an opportunity for us to support one of our own heroes who has risked it all for our freedom. Let me be one of the first to say "Welcome Home LCPL Gibson, THANK YOU for your sacrifice." -Chuck-
"In one week, you will have the opportunity to show your support for a local hometown hero. LCPL Tyler Gibson, a native of Union County who has been serving our country in the U.S. Marine Corp, returns to his beautiful hometown of Blairsville on Sunday April 1st . Please help welcome him by displaying a message on your business signage and/or by attaching a red, white, and blue bow on the front door of your business before April 1st . Tyler will be looking for the bows upon his return, so let’s give him the recognition he deserves. Thank you in advance for your participation and community spirit!"

Jordan Blasingame has also returned home from Iraq, though it's my understanding that he'll be going back for a second tour of duty soon.
