There’s a man who leads a life of danger. To everyone he meets he stays a stranger With every move he makes, another chance he takes. Odds are he won’t live to see tomorrow.
Secret Agent Man. Secret Agent Man. They’ve given you a number and taken away your name.
Beware of pretty faces that you find. A pretty face may hide an evil mind. Ooh be careful what you say, or you give yourself away. Odds are you won’t live to see tomorrow.
Secret Agent Man. Secret Agent Man. They’ve given you a number and taken away your name.
Swinging on the Riviera one day Layin’ in a Bombay alley the next. Oh don’t let the wrong word slip, while kissin persuasive lips. Odds are you won’t live to see tomorrow.
Secret Agent Man. Secret Agent Man. They’ve given you a number, and taken away your name.

So someone that was s'posed to take care of that because it is part of their JOB, didn't get the job done... Guess what? That happens. We are all human! A warning that something is not quite the way it is ideally supposed to be is not that big of a problem!

I agree with you bb, but this was not the 1st. warning. Once someone goes to court on a warrant and does the time, the warrant is suppose to be removed from the computer preventing you from being arrested again on the same charge. The sheriff's office has not been removing these warrants timely and somtimes if it's a friend of Scott's, the warrants are not even put into the system. How would you like to be arrested twice for the samething you already paid for. That's why the GBI is coming down hard on Scott. This is one of a hundred problems at the department. These are problems with Scott, not the deputies. Bottom line, he can't be trusted. You can do what you want with this info but it's fact.. My friends and I are on the inside and have decided to expose the facts. More to come.

If that is the truth, 129north, it is a serious problem and NCIC/FBI will also be involved... I am retired from 21 years in law enforcement, so I do know that this can be a serious problem. Not entering a warrant into the system is not as serious as failing to remove the data. Stale information can and does lead to law suits against not only the arresting agency who is acting on good faith, but also to the agency responsible for the information. That said, I am sure you know that no officer should make an arrest simply on the information received via NCIC or the Georgia information system! The information has to be verified before a physical arrest is made. If the entering agency cannot verify the data, then the person stopped should be released.

bb, this is true. If the warrant has not been removed, it still shows as active in the system. The GBI found out about this from complants. Later we will talk about the missing evidence problems.

One more thing... is there no one responsible for validations? When I worked auto thefts, I was responsible for all the auto theft entries into NCIC... when I worked with warrants at another sheriff's department, I was part of a team that validated every warrant/missing person that was entered. These validations were done on a regular basis and had to be signed and returned verifying the information was correct.

No. I know for a that a friend of the sheriff will have a warrant issued on him and the sheriff will withhold the warrant. But as far as that goes, the sheriff has unarrested friends of his that have been arrested for DUI.

129north, you need to be talking to someone with GBI, not spreading this type of thing on the internet. If there are so many serious issues, I am sure the GBI will investigate what is going on and who is responsible. Work the system... if you are really inside, you know that it can work.

I know, but no thanks. They are aware of most of these things. I think I will hold on for another Sheriff. Most of the department is sure that he is on his way out.

Is fat man Norm at NGN the Sheriff's campaign manager?

Why of course not, we all know that fat boy is Liemar Paris' campaign manager, not the sheriff's. Besides, Scott has way more class than to associate himself with Mr. Editor.

If you read this weeks paper, I think it's obvious that Norm is working for the Sheriff. Norm and the Sheriff have been meeting alot lately in his office. As for the Sheriff having class, I don't think so. If you have ever worked around him, you would know how lacking in class he is. Half the time you can't get within two feet of him because of the smell of beer. Myself and others know not to call him after 6 on Fridays because you risk being fired.
