Well, to start with:
he let us vote on liquor by the drink sales which was defeated.

Then he turns around and agrees to let a state resort sell alcohol at its facility. (From what I hear the resort is no longer coming).

He used a firm with a shady history to revalue our property so that he could increase our taxes.

He uses county money and personnel to maintain a private road because one of his friends owns land at the end of it.

He spent hundreds of thousands of our dollars renovating the courthouse (which was needed, but not to the extent that he did it) and now he sits in a spacious office on the top floor with glass windows overlooking the golf course.

He has been accused of falsifying records to cover up his misdoings. (yes I said accused, not convicted)

He refused to let the republican party of union county use "his" courthouse for their annual meeting.

He is now trying to block the republicans nomination to the election board because it's someone he doesn't like.

He formed an LLC to control the county's finances and is not forthcoming as to why he did so.

He cost us money by telling a local property owner that it was okay to build a culvert for a creek that ran through the middle of her property only for the state to come along after the work was done and tell the property owner that it was not okay and had to be removed, he sent county employees and equipment in after dark to remove the culvert.

While the county was on water restrictions he had two of our firemen and a tanker truck come and water the lawn at "his" courthouse.

Planman, honey, don't you believe all the stuff these poor folks say about the commissioner. Why, I've known that boy all his life and he just wouldn't do that way. His momma taught him better than that. She was a saint, bless her heart. A school teacher in our fine system many years ago.

Most of these people on here have moved up here but the flatlands or from "up north" and they just don't know any better, bless their hearts. But we love them anyway. They can't help how they are. Their mommas must not have raised them right. I know my momma raised me not to gossip and carry on like sometime and short circuit have been doing.

Why, my momma would turn over in her grave if I carried on like they've been doing. She would say, "If you lie down with dogs, you get up with fleas." Some of these pore boys surely do have a lot of fleas!

I think just the opposite peach. People who grew up here knows what a conniver and crook Lamar is, people who moved in from other places listen to his silver tongue and think that he's a perfect little angel. I'll agree with you about his mom, she's a good ole gal. Too bad he didn't take after her.

Very correct, Short. Some of the newcomers don't like him, but most of them find him quite charming and find nothing wrong with his performance. They are not very involved so they wouldn't really know. The locals have turned against him.
That said, Gapeach, I do think highly of you. You are a very reasonable person and I don't mind at all that you support Lamar.

well wranger honey that's all right. I've learned in my life that not every body is going to like a person all the time. That's just the way it is. I'm sure that boy is doing the best he knows how to do and we can't fault him for that. He's probably had to make some decisions that made some people mad at him.

We should just all pray for him to do better. Prayer goes a long way is what my momma said.
