Manicu, I take it from a few of your posts that you are a indian. What tribe are you from?

I've lived in the county 32 years. I feel like a native. I'm definitely not a Native American though.

How long do you have to live here not to be considered a new comer? I was here long before the 4 lane.

I was here long before the four lane too, Tequila. I guess it just depends on who you talk to and what there attitude is toward non-natives.

I pay taxes here so I consider myself a "local". Please note that I did not say "native". Wonder how many people residing in this county were born here. Does anyone have a clue?

tequilla, I think I can answer that for you. When you don't have to ask what it takes to not be considered a new comer, then you are no longer a newcomer. I hope that makes sense. ;D I personally don't have a problem with the move-in's, I have a couple neighbors who "ain't from around here" but we get along great, we wave at each other when we're in the yard and that's about the extent of our communication. We know that we can call on them if we need them for anything and they know the same goes for us. I don't think everyone who lives here is so lucky though.

Oh, and I've lived here all my life. I remember the four lane coming in very well. I remember being so excited when I found out that we were getting a Hardees (now Burger King) and I remember the Tastee Freez and the Quick Chef being the places to eat. I also remember Rogers Grocery store on the square and Earl's IGA (the building next to First Baptist.) And the old Wellborn house on the square that was torn down when seasons inn and the strip mall went in there. Things have definitely changed since then!

I remember the Tastee Freeze too, it was the first place at which I ate out.
