Prayers going out for all the above - Oh, taylor... so sorry to hear about your cousin... I hope she at least got a biopsy to be sure! It would be terrible to go through unneeded surgery. BB, From what info I got from mama, she said that the doctor told her that he was almost certain it was cancer, but no biopsy, so I wonder if the doctor just didn't want to disturb it...? I have heard of so many cases where it seems that when cancer is disturbed, it kinda gets upset and begins growing/spreading.

Taylor, I just remember when the doctors at the VA hospital were "sure" my dad had lung cancer, but they were not able to get a biopsy (so they said...) Because dad was in such terrible shape, both physically and mentally, the 7 kids agreed to not let them remove his lung since we doubted he would survive such dramatic surgery. Months later, he was admitted to another hospital and where the doctor told us he really expected that dad would be riddled with cancer... but guess what! He never had cancer and what the original doctor said was cancer was not to be found. Dad was with us for over 15 years after that and died from other causes. I have learned not to take what doctors say as the final word. They are not infallible and do make mistakes.

I understand completely.
Back in 1983, my dad had a regular visit at the VA hospital in Dublin. When they looked at his chest x-ray, they quarantined him for almost a month saying he had TB. They finally admitted that he did not have it and released him. They said he had "dust damage" from living on a farm as a child. Years later, we figured out that what they saw on the x-ray must have been asbestoses. Kinda makes us wonder why they didn't tell us that part?
Also, my Uncle that passed away this past October was diagnosed with lung cancer about 9 years ago. When they went in to remove the "tumor" they had seen, there was nothing there....absolutely nothing. He underwent a very difficult and painful surgery for nothing.....

I just got off the phone with one of my cousins in Texas. Not sure if ya'll remember or not, but they just lost their mother a short time ago. The only family they have is their mother's younger brother, their own kids, and the few of us here in Georgia. They're pretty much alone.
Their uncle, Paul, started getting sick a few days ago. He finally got so bad that he passed out and his wife called 911. He was admitted to ICU with renal (kidney) failure. They have found 3 different strains of e-coli, 2 in the blood and one in the kidneys. He is on several IV medications including antibiotics and others to keep his blood pressure from dropping. So far, they haven't done dialysis as he is able to produce at least a small amount of urine on his own. He's in a lot of pain and he's not out of the woods by any means. He's only 57.
Mary's son is currently in the Army and stationed in Iraq. They are trying to get him home on a hardship. I know his mama needs him right now.
Mary asked me to please get as many prayers going as I can. I told her we were a powerful bunch and I'd get right on it.
I wish I could be there for them, but it's just not possible. Please include Paul, as well as my cousins Mary and Linda in your prayers.
