What would happen if we treated our Bible like we treat our cell phones? What if we carried it around in our purses or pockets? What if we turned back to go get it if we forgot it? What if we flipped through it several times a day? What if we used it to receive messages? What if we treated it like we couldn't live without it? What if we gave it to kids as gifts? What if we used it as we traveled? What if we used it in case of an emergency? What if we upgraded it to the latest version? Unlike our cell phones, we don't ever have to worry about our Bible being disconnected. Jesus already paid the bill!

Summerose we can carry the Word with us. He dwells in our hearts speaking to us in a small still voice. While we are at work in front of our computers, we can go to www.biblegateway.com or read the Bible verses on blairsvillecity.com Also, we can go to www.shoutcast.com and listen to His music all day. I like www.biglooradio.com. As I was writing this thread I'm listening to My Redeamer Lives, by Nicole C. Muller. I don't use it because I don't pay for it, but my cell phone is capable connecting to the Internet and playing Christian music. If the computer wasn't part of my work, I would use my cell phone. I'm not saying everyone needs a cell phone, but for my business, it is a tool that I need. I think technology is great!

Manape, I agree that technology is great. I am so glad I took computer classes and bought a laptop so I can be "technically savvy". If I didn't have it I wouldn't be on this great site and met all you nice people! I just meant that a cell phone is not for me, I didn't mean that others should not have one.

Aww! Summerose, I got the message for what that is worth to you.. Im not big on cell phones either at all.. and I am not one to even chat much on our personal home phone either for that matter. Hmmm.. come to think of it, I am not much of a big talker IN PERSON.. maybe that is why I say so much when I post? I dunno.. but I do and did enjoy your message and I thank you for sharing it with us.. and Manape does have a good message there as well with his reply in my eyes..
"we can carry the Word with us. He dwells in our hearts speaking to us in a small still voice."
So thank you to you too Manape for posting this as well.
Not that I have forgotten.. but like the paraphrase of the cell phone.. well, I personally tend to get wrapped up in the day.. and other things as well when I could be focusing more on GOD!
Just so yuns both know that your messages got my attention and I enjoy these.. thank you!

summerose. I didn't mean to imply that you need a cell phone. It is an expense I had rather do without. It just works for me. Manape's better half can keep up with him better with a cell phone.
I like to read Today's Parallel Bible. Mine has the NIV, NASB, KJV, and NLT translations.
Keep on learning about computers. As Guandhi said, "Live like you are dying and learn like you will live forever."

We are lucky to be able to access the Bible in so many ways. Some people in other countries do not.
