Hubby was going home just now on 129 and at the passing lane near Gibbs road a PT cruiser decided he was going to pass everyone. He went into the oncoming traffic and hit someone head on! Now I have to find another route home. I'll bet it's going to be a bad one...

Aww, that is too bad. Why does everybody have to be in such a big hurry to get somewhere 5 minutes sooner??

People are always in a hurry, they need to slow down and take it easy in all aspects of their life.
How sad that an innocent may lose their life over a bad decision.

Hopefully nobody got hurt. If I made a dumbass decision like that and it cost someone their life I don't think I could live with myself.

It could have very well been on of us who live down this way heading to town.
You just never know about folks.
Will have to say a special prayer tonight.

I agree tulip, I have people taking chances all the time, to pass me on a double yellow line. The after 1/2 mile, they turn right, or something. I wonder if anyone was hurt??

Yes, did anybody hear what happened to the drivers? My husband said the guy almost took him out, then passed 3 cars ahead before he went into the southbound lane.

There is Giibs ROad and Gibbs terrace. Gibbs road is right where the lane splits for passing and Gibbs Terrace is where the lane ends for passing.
There are a lot of people who fall out to pass and get over in the oncoming lane when they run out of passing room.
Do you know which end is was on?

I've spoken to a relative of the man that was driving the truck that was hit head on...he was one of the ones airlifted out. He told them that a garbage can had fallen off of a truck in front of the PTC, and that that person swerved to keep from hitting it. He is doing ok..haven't heard anything about the driver of the PTC.

I hope who ever had that garbage can drop off stopped to help. I'm sure there are other contributing factors, but it sounds like that is what caused the accident. I hate to see people driving down the road with loads that are not secured!

Actually BB it was just a plastic can and it had been in the road for a while so I'm sure the person who lost it must feel terrible about now. The driver made a bad decision to drive into oncoming traffic rather than hit the plastic can. He just panicked I guess.
