No, they are absolutely not always counted accurately. This is not heresay or rumor. I have witnessed it with my own eyes. Further, when questioned about this, the Democrat controlled Board Of Elections adamatly refused to perform a visual or manual check of ballots. In this particulal case, (140 ballots cast, but only 138 votes counted) when this could have been done in a matter of minutes.
The candidates, the voters, and most importantly all servicemen and women deserve better than this. Many soldiers have fought and many gave their lives in order to protect the right to vote. Also, many are now in Iraq doing the same for that country and its people. Yet here we are after several hundred years of voting and this type of arrogance by Union County BOE is commonplace.
Our BOE in Union County needs a total remake starting with the Union County Board Of Elections Act. This is not only a poorly written document that is confusing and impossible to understand but it also gives total control to the Governing Authority, Lamar Paris (D). This Act should be replaced with one that serves and protects the wishes of the voters, not the Governing Authority. And yes, the current Act would be just as wrong if a Republican were in power.
BTW, The current BOE Act went into effect in 2001. Lets see now, who took office in that same year and signed a resolution adopting this Act?

Oscar, if understand you, that was the trailer that the county had before the unnecessary courthouse was finished. You amaze me, you and your kind are against building the courthouse because we didn't need more room, and complain because you had to meet in a crowded trailer, the "portacourt". Manape, Perhaps I'm wrong about you. You are hard to figure. Your multitude of posts seem to be all over the place with contridictions. You seem to be an ardent supporter of Comm. Paris, yet even you have admitted that he lies. How can you support someone that cannot be trusted? You often have a negative comment regarding Republicans, yet claim at times to be somewhat Repbulican yourself. Now if you will be honest about it, you must admit that there are good and bad individuals in all political parties. Therefore I believe that only the person you may disagree with should be slammed and not the Party as a whole. Yes, I saw a previous post of yours including the words "disgruntled Republicans" prior to your editing of this. I am a member of the Union County Republican Party and I wish to tell you and everyone else that regardless of some counterproductive past members and the unwarranted negative propaganda about this Party and or its members that it now consists of some of the finest individuals with the best of ethics and morals that you can find anywhere. To my knowledge not one of them have a personal agenda. They only strive for what is right for all citizens. You also seem to have a big problem with sometimeman. He is absolutely correct in that the State of Ga. refuses to do anything to enforce the laws regarding local issues. I hope that you can understand now just why I'm leary of you. Also again, I hope that I am mistaken. If you truly want to "get r done" about the farce of UCBOE, good, lets get together on this and correct it. I have asked the Admin. of this board to post the UCBOE Act here and I'm sure that it will be forthcoming. Be patient. Also, there is a State Of Ga. Code of Ethics that also extends to local city and county governments. In fact, I gave a copy to Comm. Paris years ago. He may have hidden it since he couldn't change it, or can he? I'll try to get it posted here as well. One item on there that I find most ignored is something like "expose corruption wherever you find it". This is directed to all in government be it local or state. Again sometimeman is correct. One more thing, if all posters would come out of the closet and use their real name then perhaps they would be taken more seriously and we could move forward in a positive manner. Also, they would be more accurate and careful as to what they say here. All of this "he said, she said, did to, did not" and as of late some borderline foul language means little if anything. Eddie, thank you for your opinion and I thank God we live in this great republic where we can gather on this forum and say what we want to without fear of censorship, at least for now. We can poke fun at Republicans, Democrats, Lamar, Donkeyphants, Liberals, Conservatives, Liberals, Independents, Libertarians, and Republicrats. It is not the same for China.

I guess you don't think this could happen in the USA. In China, the government continually monitors the Internet for illegal activity, just like you do as a deterrent to free speech.

I'm not an ardent supporter of Paris. I don't know how you got that idea. I have no strong enthusiasm or devotion to Lamar. What I am passionate about is proof; not hearsay; not unsubstantiated statements; not innuendos. May the best candidate win. My trust is not blind...give me someone better than Lamar, more competent, and more trustworthy and I will vote for him or her. It doesn't matter what color, nationality, religion, or party...just give me a choice.

Assuming this is what you are referring to, above, I didn't say I agree that Lamar consistently lies. What I said was in the Union Sentinel it clearly stated $150,000 less was spent on Norman and associates. Later, he retracted that statement. I don't know where he lied, made a mistake, or had a brain fart. I can't judge him for what he said and I don't relieve the Almighty of that awesome responsibility. Furthermore, with all due respect, I don't appreciate you and Sonny giving the honest people on the tax assessor board hell during your whistle blowing fiasco, especially the Christian lady who is head of the board of assessors.

No, I don't have a negative opinions about the Republican Platform of Georgia or Republicans who are ethical and honest. I just want politicians to practice what they preach. I do have a negative opinion of a Republican mud slinger. Put that in your pipe and smoke it.

There was no whistle blowing fiasco. Eddie Woodliff is a decent human being. He was just brave enough to attempt to show Union County property owners the truth. Eddie, Sonny Boyer, Justin Melick and Curtis Richardson are good, salt of the earth people. Ape you are just wrong! WRONG!

Lamar did what he did on the advelorem tax on purpose. It was no accident. If you were any sort of person with an ounce of integrity you would have insisted Lamar Paris treat people fair and support the fourteenth amendment regarding equal protection under the law. The nice Christian lady on the board of assessors will do what anyone she perceives as being in authority tells her. She is a classic example of most “citizens”. She just- don’t- know- any –better. The D.A.s ,Judges and courts officials love people who will do what they are told .

Members of the Grand Jury don’t even begin to understand they have over-site of their governing officials, in their hands. The law gives them this power. Instead they behave like scared rabbits and do what ever they are told. They are the D.A.s rubber stamp and they rubber stamp what ever is presented to them. Just look at former D.A. Nifong over in North Carolina! We can’t even begin to understand that a “government of the people, for the people and by the people” includes the “Jury Box” We can only understand it to mean “the ballot box” and even that has been stolen from us! We are mindless sheeple!
