I'm voting "no" too... with the economy as bad as it is, people are struggling to pay for the basics. If we have to tighten the belt, then so does government, including school board. Prices have risen so drastically lately and most people can't afford an additional 1% (or continuing the 1% we have already been paying.) It's ironic that the article on SPLOST in the local paper was right above the one about the food pantry being bare... People can't afford to eat and they want us to pay for a high dollar luxury item! Don't get me wrong, a sports/fine arts center would be nice, but people have to eat!

I was bothered with the placement of both articles, guess I have been more focused on myself other than my neighbors....I'm rethinking my position on the splost...don't get all sentimental on me bubba, I said rethinking from a community position not just my on situation. I'll continue to be the pain in your side ;D

Good News, Good News, at least for all of you so eager to vote yes on never ending tax increases. I was told today (unconfirmed) that you will get to vote on another County SPLOST next Feb. Don't that make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside? Can hardly wait can you? Almost like having another Christmas isn't it?
I wonder what the dire need will be for this one? I also wonder why its' been kept quiet? Hmmmm No matter, I'll vote NO to both. So, go ahead and line up now to see who gets to cancel out my NO vote.

Just something else to vote NO to! Just remember that Liemar will cry like a baby if he doesn't get his way, we'll have to get him a pacifier.

Short c , Liemar Paris has another splost vote coming up after the first of the new year . Not being mentioned in the N>G>N> . he is trying to keep this quiet . More money for the king .Lamar also is not talking about the lack of members on the board of elections because he did not approve of the person appointed by the Republican Party with 100% of the party's vote . Paris makes his own LAWS . VOTE NO TO SPLOST AND PARIS .

The commisar said he was buying firetrucks and would pay for them with the upcoming splost, and you are right, he's putting the wagon before the horse. And this would be the local government 1% sales tax. The Education splost is tuesday nov 6 VOTE NO TO SPLOST

The Education splost is tuesday nov 6 VOTE NO TO SPLOST Right Bubba, I've just been so consumed as to how I will pay all these myriad taxes that I forgot about the fire trucks. I also didn't realize that this other tax/vote was coming so soon. So that explains the dire need, the debt that he has already incurred without the voice of the people. I betcha it will be for more than the fire truck debt though. As long as we have any money or property left, there will be needs that are absolutely necessary. I'll still vote no.
