Maddy she is very social, why should she have to study it???
My sister in law has is getting her degree to do ultrasounds and she has to take English. I said to her "Lisa, honey you speak English, why are you taking it?"

Cubby, tell the boys to keep up the great work! And, pat yourself on the back - I just know their mama had a hand in it!

Thanks again to all! You are all so sweet! It puts a smile on my face to read this topic. My boys both got straight A's and on the honor roll two semesters in a row. We are all very proud of them. Now, it's not to say it's been an easy haul to get there. In fact, the oldest is bordering on not being there! I was surprised he even did get it this time. He needs more prompting and encouragement to do his work. Sometimes even to the point of tears. BUT, he did it, and that makes me even more proud, because I know it's not something that is just natural for him. Little one tends to pick up things faster and has a better memory and more of a drive. He, however, has less of the "common sense" smarts! LOL! They are still so little, and they change so much from day to day. It's hard to keep up sometimes. Right now, they are still young enough that mom and dad are usually a step ahead. I fear the day (and I know it's coming soon) where we won't be! Hubby is a big factor in their success in school. Yes, I take a very active part, but hubby is more patient and more disciplined in keeping them on track. Sometimes it is hard for me, because I honestly was the type of child that went home and did my work, no questions asked. I was driven to a point of insanity (I was really hard on myself in school). So, I often have to remind myself when we are pulling our hair out over them not wanting to do their work, that we are all different...and that is OK for the most part! Sooo...all in all, I am really very proud of their grades, and hope it continues. I am even prouder of their behavior in school, in the classroom and on the playground...that is even more important to me.

Okay...mine did make honor roll! We were looking at the wrong line. It was the average over the other 9 weeks! Yea!!! Thing is, I don't push my child to do 100%. I want her to know we feel it's important, but I don't tie her down to it. You know what I'm saying? (i don't!! LOL) I don't want her or even will accept her getting d's & f's, but I'm not demanding of her making A's. We'll catch it before she get's in that "grey" area of grades, but I'm not one of those Mom's who demands the A's from my children. Out in the "real world", A's aren't what brings in the pay check or gets you through life's little challenges!
