For all you local people out there you might want to take a gander at a little video on Justin's website called "JUstin Delivers some thoughts on Blairsville."
Verrry interesting! Queenbee, let me know what your thoughts are about it.

I think it was a brilliant idea to add a laugh track to the video. Because those are the only laughs that video will ever get.

Personally, I think that video is very insulting to people in this community.
I happen to know some "Arrowwoods" and how they want to pronounce their name is their business, not some snotty nosed little wannabe commissioner who thinks he, who has traveled around the world, knows the proper way to talk.
Let's just wait and see if this video disappears off his website like all the phantom stuff disappeared.
ha ha ha. Justin is already learning how to be a good politician.
Although Justin has declared that he was not the phantom, I think it is still very suspect. Just think of this - Justin is called to a meeting by the phantom who says he is not going to run but he wants Justin to run. This meeting just took place last week. Low and behold!!!! Miracle of miracles!!!! Justin JUST HAPPENS to have his platform ready and his campaign website ready.
Either he is one fast candidate, or he just happened to have all this ready just in case someone should ask him to run, or he is related to the phantom and has inherited some of those magical powers.
Which could it be? Stay tuned to the next episode of:
PHANTOM'S SON RETURNS TO UNION COUNTY AS (drum roll)
JUSTIN "THE PHANTOM" MELICK!!!!!!!!! (cheering) (clapping)

I know I will draw the wrath of a few on here, but I have to agree that Justin is not as worldly or experienced as he would like us to believe. I believe his intentions are honorable, but he really needs to experience a few more of life's day to day trials. I also found his video not all that funny, and a put down to people that live in Union County. I am sure he thought his dry sense of humor would come across as funny, but it is one idea that really back fired. Sorry, Justin. I just can't take your campaign seriously at this point.

Lamar is on the attack, he knows that Justin has much better leadership abilities than he does. Then again, so does my cat.

The Commissioner lives OFF taxpayers money. He is not satisfied with his salary. He creates an LLC to do deals to profit himself.

I'm sure Justin has the best intentions here, but he is not qualfied for this job in any way, shape or form. People will stick with "Liemar" rather than risk putting their county in financial ruin.
As I understand it, Justin's qualifications are that he lived in another country with his missionary parents (as a child). He did a little sports writing for a couple of newspapers. He bounced around between colleges for a while. He supposedly managed some company and brought it out of financial ruin.
As far as the colleges go, bouncing from school to school is not something you should boast about. Did he ever get his bachelors degree? Or even an associates degree? And what was the name of the company that he saved? How did he save it?
I'm not being mean here, these are just questions that voters will ask and deserve to know.
And his plan for stimulating the building industry is extremely, extremely naive. Thats putting it nicely.
I mean, I will ask so and so to waive this fee? I will ask so and so to provide better service? That shows a real lack of understanding a much bigger economic picture that extends waaaaaaayyy beyond Union County.
Justin is going to learn some hard lessons in this campaign.

Feel free to go back and find any post where I have kissed the butt of "Liemore."
You won't find one.
I'm just trying to tell you how this is going to end. The same way I tried to tell you that all that phantom candidate crap would eventually go down in flames. I'm glad someone finally realized that.
This will be the same. Your candidate is going to lose badly.
But none of you care how horribly he gets drilled. You always have the same fallback. You'll just cry and whine that Liemore fixed the voting machines and swear that 2012 will be the year you finally git 'im.
Go back to fantasy land.
In case you haven't realized it yet, every time you venture out into the place where the rest of us live (a place called reality) you just end up getting your backsides handed to you and you have to slink away, whining about a fix.
You idiots would trot out a 7-year-old to run if that was legal and was all you had.
You'd talk about how he led a comeback in one of the greatest games of dodgeball ever played, and how he got an A- on his latest second grade history test. Then he'd talk about how he would invite the people at the banks and the water department over to his house to play with his spider-man toys, so they would be friends with him and do what he wanted.
You'd talk about how that made him a great candidate for commissioner.
Then when everyone laughed (like now), and said he was nowhere even close to qualified, you'd just whine and call it an attack.
Pathetic.

Omikkron is not a Lamar or Justin fan, Fairplay.
I'm sure there are people who have a more impressive resume than me in this county, but where are they? Where are they when we need them so very badly?
And omikkron, I have never liked spiderman. His movies are too childish for me. Also, I was 12 when I moved to Indonesia. I lived on a dead end street inhabited by many troubled youthes always spoiling for a fight. We had a humble home and lived among the locals unlike most of the expatriots living there, and my parents taught me that I was no better than anyone else. It was there that I developed a deep concern for the poor.
Bluemoon, I burned the midnight oil to get that platform and speech together. And that website was created and published in four hours on Monday evening.
As for the comedy, I did that before I even decided to run. It is linked to on the site due to numerous requests for more personal information about me. It is not going anywhere. I find it interesting that there were no negative comments about it before I started running. Everyone knows, there was no intent to insult anyone. I pronounce "Arrowwood" and the K-Road like the locals and get made fun of by non-locals. Many Floridians and locals feel antogonized by each other, ( I never have), and only when we learn to laugh about our differences will there be true harmony. And I have recieved a lot of positive feedback about it, much more than I expected. But dry humor is not for everyone. That's okay. NO entertainer in the world has ever been liked by everyone in the audience. You never know if anyone will like you, but that particular video did not back fire at all!!!
As everyone who knows me can tell you, I live everyone. I love the locals, I like the Floridians, and I like Northerners.
But entertaining people with jokes is behind me now. I offer plain truths and solutions. Families are suffering and that is no joke. Our government has lost touch with the citizens and that is no joke. People are being taxed out of their homes and that is no joke. Many of the young people in this county are being lost to drugs and despair and that is no joke.
I am not running to cause divide but to bring people together. I am not running to promote myself, but to help others.
If you do not like what I stand for, or do not like me then so be it. If I were to only get 4% of the vote like Omikkron believes I will, then I will say I got 4%. I am my own worst critic. But on the other hand, should I prevail, then I will treat even those who have viciously attacked me with respect.
Some say, I was too self-depricating, some say I was too over zelous with recounting past achievements (self-promotion is my least favorite part of running for office). Some say, I should have been harder on the present Commissioner. Some say, how dare you even run. But all I can do, is do what I feel is right. Same goes for any of the other candidates. It is a shame that more people are not willing to stand up and run for office. After seeing all the negativity, I can see why.

Justin, the Lamar people are only attacking YOU because they are afraid of you! If you were really as bad as they claim, they would not have turned their attack machine solely on you. Lamar is so sure he is going to win his primary that he's already turning his attention to you. I think I would withdraw all my praise of him and his crew, if I were you.
And I'm local and my family and I loved your video! That is just a worthless political ploy by Bluemoon.

Quote from Bluemoon: "Sorry, Justin, no matter what the repubs do, Lamar is still going to WIN. Harold Cook winning back in 1997 was a fluke and people have not forgotten what a disaster that was." 1/27
This is what you get for taunting Justin with your haughty words. You reap what you sow.
