I'm afraid DSL is as good as DSL gets. It is just old technology. It is really not to bad and it works for web servers and email. The support for static IP's is actually very good.
I only know from personal experience that wages are lower here in the hills. I wasn't aware that the DA's bylaws keep them focused on low wage jobs and they refuse to even consider companies that offer higher wage jobs. Why can't the DA change their bylaws? Are they driven by local businesses?

Justin is inexperienced at stealing public money. I expect he will forever remain inexperienced in this area. He's nature is one of honesty and will not permit him to gain this "experience"

I've been quitely watching the unwarranted attacks on Justin Melick and must speak up in his defense. The best Lamar and his aliases can come up with is too young and inexperienced? Justin is a political candidate now. You've spent enough time attacking Lamar to know that once someone becomes a political candidate, they're going to draw criticism. "Unwarranted" is subjective. From everything I've read in the newspaper, Lamar thinks your attacks are just as unwarranted. And you're right. Justin being inexperienced isn't a very good criticism. It's not even accurate. Unqualified is the more appropriate word. I wouldn't want someone who has no real knowledge of medicine operating on me. I don't want someone who has no real knowledge of how to run county government overseeing my county. You people never stop being funny. Every time around you are clearly convinced that this is the time you've got it won. Then you just get clubbed again. You are so wonderfully naive.

Here is the rest of my post fullmoon that did not make it through. Have a field day with it.
I’ve been quietly watching the unwarranted attacks on Justin Melick since his announcement to run for County Commissioner. Although I’m not surprised, Lamar and his many aliases have reached new lows in these attacks. It seems that the best they can come up with so far is too young and inexperienced as if both were evil and can only lead to doom. And some have even made light of his faith in God and how his daily life reflects his faith. As to youth- I believe that you can give your life in battle at 18. 25 is old enough to be a U. S. Congressman. 35 is old enough to be U.S. President, I think Justin is now 24. As to inexperience- With 159 counties in this state and many more hundreds of County Commissioners currently in office, not to mention the thousands that preceded them, were they experienced when first elected? For those of you that may not be aware, there is training provided prior to taking office. Was Lamar experienced as a County Commissioner when first elected? How about Harold Cook or Wayne Colwell? Does experience as a predatory lender qualify one for public office? Justins’ experience that you may not be aware of- Local organizer of Conservative Country Coalition that has held at least 3 annual fundraising dinners. These were to raise money to help support our troops. Some of the speakers and attendees he assembled for these events were U.S. Senator Saxby Chambliss, conservative talk show host Martha Zoller, Pastor Bill Honaker of House Of Prayer and retired U.S Army coroner, Chuck Honaker Iraq war veteran, State Senator Chip Pearson, State Senator Nancy Schaefer, State Representative Charles Jenkins, Major Leon Davenport, Retired General Jere Akin, Lamar Paris and many more that I cannot remember. Justin also put together the Mountain freedom Festival in Sept. of 2005 at Meeks Park. This event was also to raise funds to support our troops. Speakers included VFW Commander Bob Woodstock, Chuck Honaker, and Lamar Paris. Justin has held several “Fair Tax” meetings in Union and Towns Counties. These were held to provide information about and to promote the “Fair Tax”, a national sales tax, that if enacted, will abolish Internal Revenue Service. Justin also put together the “Right Wing Dinner” prior to the election in 2006 that was held at the Brackett Room. This was to assemble Rep. Charles Jenkins and his opponent Frank Wheeler so that each could speak and answer questions from the audience. Although there were many in attendance, it was unfortunate that Rep. Jenkins had very few supporters due to the fact that our local award winning journalist and legal organ Norman Cooper refused to help promote this event in the NGN. Norman doesn’t like Justin nor any other competition as well. However, Rep. Jenkins did a “stand up” job regardless. As mentioned, Lamar Paris attended several of these events, so he is very well aware of Justins’ leadership, initiative, and character. But now that Justin is running against Lamar, he’s too young and inexperienced. As to Justins’ faith in God. I have known him for about 5 years now and in that time I have never seen him begin a meeting without an opening prayer. I have never seen him begin a meal without saying a blessing. I also have never known him to be self righteous or above anyone else. God is simply a major part of his life. He is a humble man and holds no grudges even amidst these latest attacks. To those of you who find negativity in these traits, well all I can say is “I wouldn’t want to be in your shoes”. To finally end my rant, I hope you all can see from the above that Justin knows his way around the political arena. He’s no stranger to serving his community. Regarding the numerous events I mentioned he volunteered for these. There was no obligation. There was no pay. There was no glory, merely a commitment to civic duty. And now he has offered once again to serve you and I as County Commissioner. This is the kind of experience, commitment, and integrity that I’ll vote for.

Thank you Eddie for your post.
Moonie- Does experience to you mean, Justin must accept a proposal to do county wide property reassessment that is $150,000 higher than a proposal from a more qualified appraiser? Your man seems very experienced in running the costs of county government up.
I don't expect Justin would do that.

Lamar had no experience when he went into office. He was very experienced as to getting money out of peoples pockets. And with property taxes nearly tripled in 6 years, this experience has been very successful..........for him.

I'll take inexperience with honesty anytime instead of a person of proven dishonesty no matter what their level of experience is.

You people want to talk about being negative but Just for the record.... this website was started with apparently the express intent to bash the commissioner. There have been negative things on here from day one of this website.
All we are doing on here is defending our viewpoint. We have had to listen to all your ugly accusations against the commissioner but now that the shoe is on the other foot you are getting your panties in a wad. We are only doing the same thing for Lamar that you are doing for Justin .... defending him.
And Justin better get used to it because he is now a political candidate and as such is fair game. If he can't take it and you can't take it then get out of the game. If by some miracle he should get elected he had better get used to the fact that his supporters will turn on him in a flash if they do not get their way.
And Justin, at first I did wish you well. But that was before I saw your so called "platform", Sorry, son, but you don't have a clue. I really wouldn't go out into the community with that platform. People will laugh themselves silly. Save yourself some embarrassment.
Yeah yeah yeah Eddie. They may not have had experience but I don't think they had such silly platforms. And Eddie, YOu have been making "unwarranted" attacks on the commissioner for a long time.

Moon, Eddie has made no unwarranted attacks. All that Eddie has said is truth, that all should understand.
A loan officer to run a county is ridiculous. As has proved to be the case by things Mr. Paris has done. Any platform Justin puts forth beats anything Mr. Paris suggests. I should say I'm sorry for you Moon but, I'm not you'll get what you deserve.
Mr. Paris might continue until his verbiage overloads his posterior.

Oh and as I recall, Lamar wasn't even mentioned until several weeks after this site began. He's not that important.
