I will agree with you on that queenbee. The produce that the farmers are selling is ussually straight out of their garden and it tasts better to me.

I agree with the Bee also. I enjoy going to a farmers market. I help the farmer and he helps me. I've even been to places where the farmers have to pay a SMALL fee for their area.

The Farmers Market did charge a small fee, $2 a space. I would have been happy to pay a little more for the convenience.
I think I will ask some of my friends who make their living as farmers, just what they buy with all that Federal money they are receiving. I feel sure they would want to discuss the benefits of farming with you face to face.
BUBBA, I hope you choke on your next plate of collards, Bless Your Heart.

The farmers market was not just for the few full time farmers left in the area. It also benefited the people like myself who had more produce out of our backyard gardens than we needed. We benefited by being able to sell our extra produce and everyone else benefited by getting fresh produce. It was a win win situation.
The courthouse parking lot was great but it would be wonderful to have a covered shed for those times when it rained or was hot.
I consider a farmers market a perfectly good use of taxpayers money because it has the potential of benefiting all of the taxpayers plus it creates a sense of community and brings in tourist dollars also.
Justin, I have read your platform again and I have some questions and comments for you:
1. First of all, you didn't answer my question about what county property you would put a farmers market on.
2. What are the alternative sources of income you are talking about?
3. Property value freeze. (The state is already considering this.)
4. water and sewer system (city is already working on upgrading this)
5. What ordinances do you consider needless and why?
6. Other than the golf course, what do you consider "waste" in the county? Do you plan on reducing the sheriff's dept or the fire dept?
7. What are you going to do after this pro bono county manager leaves after six months. Hire someone?
8. How has the DA been handicapped and how as commissioner would you be able to change this?

There are more than 6 or 7 full time farmers in Union County, educate yourself Bubba.

I know you are upset with moonie for pointing out Justin's shortcomings, however don't take it out on me. She just used the farmer's Market as a P.O.Q in her discussion.
I don't have to check with the extension office, I know the farmers by name, location and families.
That comes from growing up here without having to snoop around.
Thank You Very Much
PS; Dirt farmers aren't the only farmers, mass production farmers aren't the only farmers and not only farmer's use the farmers market.

Justin I believe I will have to agree with a previous post, it's not the people who dislike you who are doing you harm, your supporters are just as bad.
I know, I know, you can't be held responsible for what other people do. But you might want to try and reign them in some.

An observation:
Most of those posting on Blairsvillecity.com are like this - Go JUstin go justin, you are great, you are wonderful, we would vote for you even if you had three legs, just because you are not Lamar.
On Blairsville.com, people are taking a good hard look at Justin and asking why they should vote for him.

Sometimeman asked: Can any of these good folk tell you why they voted for a commissioner who would sit up an LLC to prevent them knowing the debt he was placing on their property? Can they tell you why they voted for a man who un-necessarily spent $150,000 of their money paying for a county wide property reappraisal ? Can they tell you why they support a jackass on the form of a man?

"B" Now you listen here, I'm dead serious about wanting the county to build me and my buds a garage. Now you know we all drive vehicles that need repair, even the vacationers that come up here! Why a garage makes a hundred times more sense than a farmers market! You can sell your stuff out the trunk of your car or off the back of your truck. But. we "NEED" a garage! I'm tired of working in the dirt!

I agree with bluemoon and queenbee the other site ask serious questions of the candidates they point out the issues concerning every voter and the posters aren't all over the spectrum of sanity as most here.
Who cares about most of this crap posted here, Justin get a grip on your cheering squad, have a adult talk with them tell these people to stick with issues facing our county give us your stand on the issues and stop playing childish games like kids.

Bee is right. Justin's supporters are not doing him any good as evidenced by sometimers latest post. ha ha ha ha
We may not know who he really is but a lot of people know all about sonny and eddie and the like and will not be likely to vote for Justin because of them.
