Do you realize just how many lurkers there are out there surfing the world wide web. They are not only child predators either. Every one should take special caution when posting on any forum not to put out too much personal information. You just never know who is lurking and looking at your posts. I was checking out Honeybees other forum she's on this morning and noticed a bunch of those people dont like one particular poster. They went so far as to go to another forum she is on and quote her. Stupid and bored with no life is what I call them. Nothing was said about any of the ones bashing this poor old lady. She didnt mention the name of the forum she was talking about either. One of the local news channels is doing a special this week on internet predators. I think it would be good for us all to watch it and to be extra careful. Just my opinion. I'm just one man with lot's of opinions.

How ironic that you would start this topic Sunnybeach.
I too read the posts on the other local forum this morning. Very childish and immature actions on the posters part. If the lady they were posting about had mentioned the name of the forum and personal names, I would agree they would have a right to be angry. But from the readings of their posts and the quotes of her postings that they used, no names were mentioned by her. It's only my personal opinion, but I believe what the posters are doing to this lady, could be classified as harassment.
As a sidenote; after reading your topic here, I went back to that forum and the posts have been removed.
Back to topic; lurkers and predators are everywhere. We should all be extremely careful about any personal 411 we and our children put out there. Some people post all for the world to read and though they may not mean to, they make it easy to figure out their real identity.
Something we all should think about.

One thing you can do when you are joining a forum is to get a throw away email. Never use the email that has your real name. If people know how to do it, they can get your name from the email even if you didn't use it in the text. And don't think there are not lurkers here in Blairsville. Also, if you are really concerned about hiding your identity, never tell anyone who you are except family, never tell a friend, especially in this town.
I think children should be supervised when they are on the Internet. The computer should be in the family room.
I need to go. Gotta work.

Why dont you take it up with the woman on the other forum instead of coming here and talking about her? How about YOU tell me what the hell you're talking about? Hurting innocent people?
