lol! Manape... thank you. We do use that company out on the YH highway for mulch too.. .. I will most certainly heed your advice. Last year hunny did all of this stuff but he has been working longer and more hours therefor, I have tried to do what I can.. we do have our own trailers as well.. its just getting him to unload all the stuff on at least one to get it empty for the fine manure!lol! I have tackled the over grown iris and easter lily garden that has been one more job and a half to do this evening.. anyone want some of these?

I tried using human hair and it did not work. I put it on both sides of my rhodadendron and the deer still kept on eating it!

It was much too windy last night to cover anything up, if we had tried it would have blown off and sailed into the next county! lol!

My Bleeding Hearts are beautiful and everyone is welcome to do a drive by to look at them. I am just a proud parent, I guess. My little pink TUlip is starting to lean to oneside so her season is about done.
The Morning Glories and Clematis are in competition to see who can grow the fastest.

The dogwoods in my backyard look a little nipped this morning. Haven't been out yet to check on the shrubs and irises.

What have you found to be the best soil additive for flowering plants ? Worm castings work well for me .

I guess you could say it's a "Natural Compost" pile. My chickens keep it turned over and over in the pen and I let it stay for awhile so that it can "age". I only have 3 rabbits now, so it takes a while for it to build up. When I do shovel it up for distribution I try not to use fresh droppings.
CAN YOU SEE I AM TRYING TO BE POLITICALLY CORRECT HERE??? Don't want to offend anyone.
The bottom of my pen has sawdust in it, so the sawdust has to age also or it will burn the plants and kill them.
Hoping to get some spread in the next week or two. The winter weather has slowed things down in the flower beds.
All is organic, I do not and have never give my rabbits or chickens antibiotic's or hormones. I do feed them store bought laying mash for the chickens and pellets fro the rabbits so I feel safe in saying we are all natural.
Want some???
I also have an abundance of eggs. I can no longer find anyone to give them too.

The tech schools stayed about 5 to 10 years behind in horticulture back in the 90s . The local growers and home gardeners all have something to share . Everyone knows something the other person does not know . We all need to share knowledge .
