"A friend of mine attempted to get this letter in the NGN and was slapped down completely. So where do you go from here!!"
Posting it here is a good start rmreed.

Mr. Reed. Dick Bell may not appreciate you using his name on the Internet without his permission. After all, he is a private citizen and you sir are violating his constitutional right to privacy. I don't see the difference in posting his name all over the NGN with erronous information, and any other posting. The intent of the letter was to show that, No one is able to put anything in the NGN, free or otherwise, in answer to Paris' or his running mate BELL's CRAP.

RMReed, it's your azz. You can print anything about Lamar Paris because he is a public figure and most likely get away with it. I don't know the one you say printed erroneous information. Is he considered a public figure? Just beware. Manape doesn't like to see homeboys sued.

Ole normie is up to his tricks of mis-information in this weeks article about splost. He shows his ignorance by making a mountain out of a molehill.
The only thing he said that comes close to accurate was a paragraph close to the end of the article "The only way the court could deny approval would be if someone could prove the vote illegal or if something was wrong."
Both Harold Cook and Mike Sims knew the court action to validate the bonds was a rubber-stamp affair. Both knew that intervention to the court was NOT appropriate because the referendum was legal, therefore there was no intervention.
Their letters were added to the record to show there is NOT 100% approval for the commisar to spend taxpayers money before taxes are even collected nor is there apathy among ALL VOTERS as to how the County puts property owners in debt.
As for the OCGA law quoted, read the below law. The only interpretation that was right in the NGN article is the law was passed in 2004.
You will notice there is no mention of when a splost was passed nor is there a mention that any passed splost has an exemption from this law. It looks like the commsar is looking for a way to justify his failure to abide by the law and ole normie is trying his best also to fool the people.
The burden falls upon the commisar to prove this law does NOT apply.
§ 48-8-122. Record of projects on which tax proceeds are used; annual reporting and newspaper publication of report
The governing authority of the county and the governing authority of each municipality receiving any proceeds from the tax under this part or under Article 4 of this chapter shall maintain a record of each and every project for which the proceeds of the tax are used. Not later than December 31 of each year, the governing authority of each local government receiving any proceeds from the tax under this part shall publish annually, in a newspaper of general circulation in the boundaries of such local government, a simple, nontechnical report which shows for each project or purpose in the resolution or ordinance calling for imposition of the tax the original estimated cost, the current estimated cost if it is not the original estimated cost, amounts expended in prior years, and amounts expended in the current year. In the case of road, street, and bridge purposes, such information shall be in the form of a consolidated schedule of the total original estimated cost, the total current estimated cost if it is not the original estimated cost, and the total amounts expended in prior years and the current year for all such projects and not a separate enumeration of such information with respect to each such individual road, street, or bridge project. The report shall also include a statement of what corrective action the local government intends to implement with respect to each project which is underfunded or behind schedule and a statement of any surplus funds which have not been expended for a project or purpose.
HISTORY: Code 1981, § 48-8-123, enacted by Ga. L. 2004, p. 69, § 21.

Once again, Norm of many trades makes it up as he goes along. He was not in the court room on Monday morning, yet he can put words in Judge Barrett's mouth, shame on him once again!! The Judge NEVER mentioned Harold Cook's name or Mike Sim's name, he only said he had recieved SOME letters, wonder what the Judge thinks about Norm putting words in his mouth, what say we call/write and find out???

Norm is a shame among Union county's people. He treats the people like they are children to be led around on a leash.
Union County has a festering sore (Norm), that keeps spreading and seems like Cancer. It fouls the air of honest people, church people, our children, and all the citizens of Union County.
Union County would be much better of without his mis-information and twisting of the truth.
I keep looking for the dunce in all of this, but have not found one yet. Maybe there is no dunce and they are all in collusion.

This is the Law::
The report shall also include a statement of what corrective action the local government intends to implement with respect to each project which is underfunded or behind schedule and a statement of any surplus funds which have not been expended for a project or purpose.
HISTORY: Code 1981, § 48-8-123, enacted by Ga. L. 2004, p. 69, § 21.
Normie quoted Paris "the law does not apply because the splost passed in 2003 before the law took effect in 2004.
While the splost back then (like today's splost), was passed in 2003 in a referendum, the splost tax itself did not take effect until 2004. The present splost took effect in 2004, is a 5 year splost, and will expire in 2009. And 48-8-122 DOES APPLY.
Like many other things where the commisar has decided, if the law don't conform to what I wanna do, I'll just ignore it and maybe the people of Union will not find out as long as I have the NGN in my back pocket because Norm and the paper are dunces.
ONLY A COURTHOUSE ADDITION TO SHOW FOR THE $17 MILLION SPLOST MONEY COLLECTED.
WHERE DID THE MONEY GO?

Yes, like zombies we follow Norm. We will obey his commands. Bubba, it sounds like you have been watching too many old movies, again. If you don't like Norm and the NGN, you don't have to read the NGN.
The citizens of Union County use the same formula for Norm as we use for you. We take the square root and divide by 2.

man, again your logic astounds me, I am not a fan of Norm or the NGN, but how else can we know the extent of the lies being promulgated if we don't lower ourselves to reading his rubbish? The saddest part of all is we have no recourse to publically address all his lies, while I can vent here, this by no means reaches all the people who have been tainted by the poisionous dribble in the NGN. I have tried to write letters to the editor only to have them returned as personal dialogues or lectures for the "Editor". Does he really think I want to have an ongoing conversation with him, if he does he is both arrogant and well the only word that comes to mind is stupid...
This county seems to be populated by ostraches and sheep. You either put your heads in the sand and ignore everything and hope it goes away OR you're a flock of sheep who follow whom ever leads you headlong over a cliff. I have never seen so many individuals you either cannot or will not think for themselves. What a shame for the future of Union County.
We can only hope that in a few weeks the well informed will put an end to all this nonsense and we can get on to the business of living. And if the illinformed prevail, then hold on for another bumpy ride!

"you don't have to read the NGN."
I always look forward to reading it, knowing there will ALWAYS be mis-information and twisting of actual events. It's like diamond mine, always a stupid gem here and there. People like norm can't help themselves, they tell so many whoppers they can't help but trip over them and all anyone has to do is find the gems in the article.
Like Richardson from Texas said about Bush I; he can't help it, he was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.
norm can't help it; he was born to twist reality.
and some are born to lie.

Dick Bell put himself forward by running and editorial. The public has the right to debate his article. Some people have a mistaken impression of what right to privacy entails.
