The whole point of this type of discussion board is to allow people to voice opinions and advance ideas without getting bogged down with who they might be. Attack the ideas presented, speculating on who presented them serves no purpose. |

We have the fly bys like taboo whose posts are moronic and childish, yet present no ideas.
We have some who back up their posts with data or references to where the data can be found.
We have many who present opinions with no data to back up their posts.
We have some that login under different user names and say the same things.
We have some who use the same login but are actually more than one person, sometimes multiple people.
The vast majority of these have shown themselves to be supporters of the commisar after a few posts and their whole postings are geared toward smearing this forum and the users here.
And then we have those who want to be the moderator of what's said.
Which one are you soaks?

We have some who back up their posts will data or references to where the data can be found. We have many who present opinions with no data to back up their posts. We have some that login under different user names and say the same things. We have some who use the same login but are actually more than one person, sometimes multiple people. Well, if you are going to post something in a public forum don't be surprised if there are people who disagree. It really doesn't matter who the person(s) is behind the username, it's the post (idea) that should be the focus of the discussion. 'Course, if the point of this board is a mutual admiration society please let me know because I missed that part in the Terms of Use. I also failed to find anything requiring an allegiance to a particular political party, but it's obvious that a particular political view has become dominant on this board. As far as which one I am - I am a participant, who or what I am beyond that is irrelevant. |

Nothing will ever be accomplished unless you all learn to respect one another. As it is, no posters are changing their opinions.
Yes, there are some diehard former Lamar supporters that now say very uncomplimentary things about him. That comes with being in office 8 years. If Mr. Paris doesn't want to be criticized anymore he should retire.
But the petty negativity coming from the Lamar supporters is reminiscient of the Obama campaign. Try to savagely beat down anyone that dares have a different opinion than you. That is just more of the same.
Let us all grow up and talk about the issues and stop affixing the "racist" label to anyone who isn't voting Democrat.

I disagree with the above for the following reason::
Attacking ideas is similar to attacking hair color or skin color. Any ideas should be sent in to the Patent Office.
In this thread we are dealing with a socalled "newspaper" that has a track record of creating news when no news occurs.
We have a paper who has shown it's biased in favor of the incumbents, which is the papers right, but also should acknowledge it.
We have a paper which allowed a reader to include a letter using the SAME SET OF DATA THE OPPONENT OF THE PRESENT COMMISAR used in his ad IN THE SAME ISSUE.
And when confronted with the discrepancies and the probability of the writer having seen the opponents ad before it was published, denied any such action.
And when confronted with the descrepanices in the statement of the letter writer and the excuse given by the publisher, they ask for an apology when the apology is due by them.
This is a sorry paper as I have said many times, not because it is my opinion but, because they have shown by their actions and their twisting of the stories they are not to be trusted and they dis-service Union County and show Union County to have a corrupt opinion as exibited by the legal organ of this County.

FYI::
It's been that way form the creation of this site and the reason is because the other one, like the NGN, present no other views of what is really happening in Union County.
While this forum, like most forums, have different personages use it, the site has attracted a number of people who see what really goes on in Union County and are trying to get the message out. It's everyones choice what they believe from opinions, but most people would recognize that hard data speaks for itself; and if it doesn't in their mind, then the opposer of that data bears the burden of proving it wrong.
The political viewpoints expressed here have always been dominant on this site, if all you want to hear is good about Lamar Paris try the other site, the NGN, or the County website unders the "Trends " section.
