Well, I got my lab results back today and they are better than before, but I still have a long way to go. The doctors say that it is more hereditary than any thing so change will be long and difficult.

The doctors say that it is more hereditary than any thing so change will be long and difficult. it is hard work, especially in your situation. If it's blood sugar or triglycerides (sp?) then I can recommend a book I checked out from the library - something called sugar busters I think. Oddly enough, it's some diet thing from the 1990s but what I used it for was understanding what foods were really high on the sugar index even though I didn't know it. I have kept my husband's levels of all blood problems just under med-necessary levels but it's from reading about the science of foods interacting with the body more so than typical dietary books. Now I'm getting off topic so I'll save these rants for the diet thread

I used my senior citizens discount at Bi Lo today. I am starting to stock up on food for the food pantry.

I did not know you could get one there. Wonder if my parents know that? How does it work Coosa?

You just apply for the senior card when you go to Bi Lo. You have to be 60 or older to get the card. It is good for a discount on Wednesdays only. You can also get a senior card at Rite Aid. It is good for 10% off on Tuesdays, even more on the first tuesday of the month.

They are not 60 yet, but wonder if they know that. Thanks for the information. If it makes you feel better, I have seen you and would have never guessed 60. Good job!

I agree with you blessed. Coosa certainly does not look her age. I think it is great that these stores give a discount to seniors. Our society should take better care of our children and seniors.

Canned 30 more quarts of tomato juice, 21 quarts of green beans and froze 32 quarts of corn. Goodness girl! That's amazing to me! My frugal thing is that my electrician/friend brought me more veggies today from his garden so I still haven't bought veggies in the last month or so! Big savings! Plus they are deeeeellllllliiisssssshhhhhhhhh
