At age 8, I was the #1 child tap dancer for the state of Texas in 1972! I had been in tap since age 6, and that year, my group won 1st in county, then in region, finally first in state, and I was chosen first in group! When we left Texas and moved to Ohio, mama put me in a tap class there, but I was so far advanced and they went by age, not by what you knew. What they (Ohio) were doing, I was way past, and they wouldn't allow me to move up into their advanced group because of my age. Said it would make the other kids my own age feel bad. Stupid yankees! LOL!

Cancer is really a terrible thing and has touched almost if not all our families. My friends and I want to give back for all our many blessings and have chosen the 3-Day event as a means to do so.

Maddy I'll bet you are glad you are in such good shape, the heat and the walking will kill you if you aren't.
Make sure you stay hydrated.

Little known to you all. My Mom put in dance classes at 4yrs. old. Took dance all the way through high school. Then when the disco era started, it was back to lessons again. My Kindergarten teacher Mrs. Swartz taught us all how to buck dance as part of our music class. I can still do it all these years later. Just have to make sure everyone is 10 or more feet away in the event one of the girls escapes and decides to break bad. LOL

A little known fact; men get breast cancer too. I have seen those magnets that say "Save The Boob" with the pink ribbon and it makes me mad. It isn't about saving the boob, it's about saving the person. Quite a few men in this area have had breast cancer. A very nice gentleman I worked with a while back had it. He's sort of related to Ruby. I think the magnets are gimmicks to get people interested and involved. I don't feel that focus more on the body part than the person. What do you think Maddy?
