OK, Ready for another piece of news? Today when I got home and checked my email, I had a response from Backwoods Home Magazine concerning an article I sent them in October!!! It said that they "apologized for taking so long to respond" and "We like this article." It is an article on skinning a deer (or any other of our 4 legged trophy's). I'll keep ya'll posted as to if it is published or not.
The Gran'ma Gertie book is moving right along!
THANK ALL OF YOU FOR YOUR ENCOURAGEMENT AND CONGRATS. IT REALLY MEANS A LOT OT ME
Bee, The article in West Yellowstone wasn't written by Gertie, so she's still safe from all the bears!
And of course, I will ALWAYS, ALWAYS be thankful and remember my friends. Even if'n I go and git super duper highly totally completely rich and famous!! Yeah, a southern broad is fixin' to hit the scene - move over Jeff Foxworthy!!!

AS OF 2:37 PM, THE GERTIE BOOK IS FINISHED!!!!!!!!!!!! I've just finished printing the first hard copy, and saving it on both a floppy and a CD. Whew!! I'm a bit tired from sitting here most of the day and my eyes are blurry, but I made to my goal. Now, just to get it to a publisher who'll be wiling to take a chance!! I hope that will be the easy part.
Thank you to all of you for being so supportive and encouraging.
I have to run into town for a bit, but I'll come back and catch up later. And yes, Coosa, I will get paid!!

Tulip, nothing really new - I am still waiting on the contract from Backwoods Home magazine. I was paid for an interview / article on a little 8 year old who got her fist deer, and I also have another interview/article about a leatherwork pro who lives in Idaho. Both of these will be in the January issue of the mag I write Gran'ma Gertie for. I'm still writing and doing submissons, so hopefully, things will pick up. I think the key word right now is "perseverance"!
