Those of us who can enjoy what we have and make a living from what we can, learning to make do or do without, we will be the ones the others are depending on to teach them how. An old motto my kid's have heard for years: Use it up Wear it out Make it do Or do without. That's one of the traits I've always respected about natives of Union County. We were always middle class, but my parents were very frugal. My mother clipped coupons and taught us the value of a dollar. We did without a lot of things, simply because we didn't need them.

One thing I've tried to teach my kids is that there's a difference between what you need and what you want. If you're getting what you need, you're doing good. And, if you're getting what you want every once in a while too, you're doing great. But I like queenbee's saying. It's a lot shorter and it rhymes. I might have to borrow it.
