Julia Karrenbauer said Emerson's body was discovered in the 25,000-acre Dawson Forest wildlife management area -- about 30 miles south of the Union County, Georgia, state park where she went hiking on January 1.

We all were...there's always that little bit of hope. Now, the family moves on to the next step of this nightmare.

This is so sad.. Prayers for her family.
On the news it mentioned that her body was found close to the spot where the Frady boy was found. Wonder if he knows anything about the Frady boy's murder?
There is no telling what this sick sob has done..

This was the first piece of news I read this morning when I brought up my computer. It is such a sad outcome, yet a relief knowing that her family will have a tiny bit of closure. The worst is yet to come. I feel so sorry for them as I know in the upcoming trials they will be forced to see the man responsible and hear the horrid details of her death. My prayers are with them. May God keep them in the palm of His hand.
There is so much evil in the world today, both in big cities and small towns. It really makes you stop and think, makes you much more aware of your surroundings and makes you hug your kids a bit closer and give thanks that it wasn't them. This kind of thing can happen to any of us.
As for justice being served, I really doubt it. You know this creep is in a cell by himself and not allowed to mix with the other inmates - for his own protection. There are so many loopholes for the criminal to get away with such things. It seems our justice system is set up to protect the criminal, not help the victim. He will probably plead insanity, get a few years in a mental institution, then maybe a short prison term. He's already 61, maybe he'll be dead before he's able to get out. I like the target practice idea, though it seems a bit too quick and easy. This jerk needs to suffer for a while. The sad part, is we, the law abiding citizens, will have to pay for his upkeep, his care while incarcerated, and for his trial.
On a side note: One of the fellows involved in the Christopher Barrios Jr. murder this past March is attempting to pleading "guilty but mentally retarded" in a plea agreement where the main felony charges (tampering and concealment) will be dropped. All he will have on his record is one felony count of "giving false statements". He has to agree to leave Glynn County and spend about 5 years in a mental institution. Then he'll be free again. The D.A. has also agreed to not seek the death penalty against the crazy mother involved in exchange for her testimony against her husband and son.

Well, all I can say now about this monster, is that I do hope that he finds the right cell mate or whoever in that jail. Maybe, just maybe he'll end up committing "suicide". Happens, doesn't it??? I hate to be so down on our DA, but that was the WORST interview I've ever seen from a D.A. He even smirked about being asked about giving a plea bargin. He just wasn't too professional, in my opinion.

I pray that for the sake of this family, this community and the concept of justice, the whole trial can be moved to Federal Court or Gainesville for prosecution.
