What I agreed with is the fact the Catholic Church is growing, they are powerful, and they have money..like all religions, southern baptist is in there too, the Church wants control of the purse strings of this country's economy so all the sinners will come around to their ideology.

Why all this cloak and dagger stuff sometime if he is the man that's going to throw out the life preserver to save Union County from drowning in our pool of tax debt he needs to get his message out to the voters...he can't win with just one vote for crying out loud!!

Hello everyone, I have been doing research on several complaints against our Commissioner posted on the other thread so far I can't find anything to substantiate such anger among you guys other than the tax increase we all experienced, sure we carry an awful lot of long term debt but in all reality we needed the new schools, the court house, the jail, the health dept.etc... our little community is growing up and unfortunately the expansions had to be done on Lamar's shift, if any other person had been in office and had to raise taxes I'm sure you would feel the same way about him. I joined this forum to hear other points of view on candidates, I love a good debate and I am willing to listen with an open mind to anyone but please lets all be adults no name calling or petty insults together we can make a difference in the next election .. "I PROMISE TO AGREE TO DISAGREE WITH YOU, AND BE A MATURE LOSER WHEN I AM PROVED WRONG" I still like Lamar in the next election..change my mind with facts ok...and lets have fun!!

They hate Lamar and Lamar hates them. Lamar gets back at them and they get back at Lamar. The cycle never ends. You may remember this type of playground behavior when you were a kid. If you don't join them in hating Billy or Susan, they hate you and call you names.

Then there are people like us, who vote for the person we think best fits the job. The die hard Republicans hate us, too.

I think the real Republican Party is trying to restore dignity to the party. I don't think what you see on this forum is your typical Republican. I have been a Republican for quit a few years and I ain't never seen any like em.

You know whats really sad about this forum other than the fact its not really a forum at all... everyone actually agrees money is tight at each home, the average citizen doesn't see an end to the spend thrift government, no one has a clue who has a plan to fix the fiasco we call leadership, there are rumors of people considering a run for commissioner next election but no one is willing to tell to come forward and tell the citizens what their plans are to move Union County in a positive direction. The majority of voters are going to vote out of anger at their present situation instead of voting with knowledge their candidate is the best possible one for the job...and yes that includes Lamar too, he was voted into office because the citizens wanted Harold out. All I wanted when I started posting here was someone to come forward with issues and answers none of which is truly here...no issues, no answers just yen and yang moaning and groaning. Everyone is disillusioned with our present leadership but too busy pushing their agenda to realize everyone is in agreement... for the record I'm not a Lamar lover he's just the only candidate thats willing to show himself at this time....correct me if I'm wrong but Lamar's competition at this point are invisible rumors we can't question on their agenda!!

Pugs, the Republican party of UC is a great party, but they are not as organized as the Democrats. I haven't done it yet, but I am going to get on the email list for both parties. I can't find the link for the Republican website and I need to work, but someone may be able to give it here or I may have posted it somewhere.

Sometimeman, I know a lot of good Republicans and Democrats. The bad ones are either in jail or voted out of office. The people rule.

Parties make no difference at all. Don't get me wrong. We need the two party system. The only difference in parties is who is in control at the time. Why should I leave them alone? I just want to know where they stand on issues. Do you have a problem with that? Life is too short to hate the way you and the others do.
