Phantom:I never thought I would run for county commissioner, but unexpectedly, God laid that path before me. So, now trusting in his strength and kindness, I am preparing my family and myself for the hard fight ahead. I know I will be attacked and ridiculed, but God’s grace is sufficient. Everything happens for a reason and every step of the way has been planned out. Justin:Running was a hard decision to make. But when God tells you to do something, you should not question him. So that is exactly what I did. I said why me Lord, I am nothing. But, trusting to his wisdom and kindness, I will walk this path. yep, Justin is the PHANTOM. the great white hope of the republican party. Now he needs to fess up to it instead of hiding behind the LIE that the phantom candidate got out of the race for personal reasons. The personal reason is that Justin doesn't want anyone to know he was the phantom all along. Bluemoon, I am very honored that you would read the transcript of my hastily written and poorly delivered speech. Based on the above criteria, George W. Bush or Mike Huckabee could be the Phantom. The only similiarity between the two is the mention of God. I could see how that would offend you, but I don't particulary care as God is everything to me. And also I have no family to prepare. I explained the situation, If you choose to call me a liar, that is up to you. And I understand that you needed to try to find something to claim as a lie, in order to get people to believe that I will lie again at a later date. I believe every word I said. I will say no more on that. Am I the GREAT, WHITE HOPE? Well, I am certainly white. I am not at all great, but I have embraced hope and I see it stirring now in the eyes of the people I meet. I'm sorry you don't care for the people I associate with. That's a lot of people to look down on. Following the example of Jesus, I associate with all kinds of people. Many like you, are Lamar supporters, but they don't have the same hatred of opposing viewpoints. If it is undesirable to want better government, then I will be undesirable. And you might as well get used to it. Queenbee, I will be happy to address your concerns: Alcohol: The people spoke, their will must be obeyed. As I stated, I don't drink, nor do I look down on those who do short of frequent drunkedness. But as you may have gathered, I believe in the voice of the people deciding issues that will fundamentally alter the face of our community. Wal-Mart: I shop there all the time. It is a special place where rich and poor alike mingle if for but a short time. It should have been here in Blairsville a long time ago. Why? Because they wanted to be here. In a free market, businesses should be able to grow as they see fit. This is not communist China. Multi-Commissioner Boards: Just like it is not for no reason that the Federal and State Governments are easing taxes to help us through the recession and not raising them, it is not for no reason that there are only 10 counties in the whole United States that have sole commissioners. Yes, the most efficient form of government is the benevolent dictator, but very rarely do you get one. Almost never in the modern era, if you know your history. That kind of power in one man's hands goes against everything our founding fathers stood for. And one final note to all the various phases of the Moon: "And oh, how the status quo will fight us every step and how loudly they will protest. But all the shouting in the world will not drown out the voice of the people." -Justin

And Bee, I don't care how entitled anyone feels, the good of the county always comes first and is more important than any party.

"There is NO local religious group that has come out against SPLOST, (as you lied about) because alcohol has nothing to do with SPLOST." -Lamar (commish)
"sonny, all i want is for justin to admit he was the phantom instead of hiding behind a LIE." - Bluemoon
Lamar is shaking and transfering his sins to others. That's what happens when you're a paranoid dictator.

Once again Justin shows that he "out-classes" Lamar and his online supporters.
After watching Justin's first campaign ad, I have to say that if its between Justin and Lamar, I will go with experience and vote MELICK!

Congratulations Justin! You sidestepped that question like a good politician!
All I wanted was a yes or no.

Moonie, How does you question relate to better for Union County? Would a yes answer equal less or more tax? Would a no answer equal less or more tax?
Why are you so inquisitive?
Why are you not concerned about Mr. Paris' LLC?

“Strategy without tactics is the slowest route to victory. Tactics without strategy is the noise before defeat.”
Ya, know? I'm not here to attack Justin. If God Almighty called him to run for commissioner, that's fine with me and the LORD Almighty.
Just remember that writing about the news and making the news are two very different things and the latter is much more difficult.
When a company's cash flow can't make payroll -- the CEO doesn't run home and break his piggy bank to meet the obligation. Rather he screams -- "Collect more money! -- Make more sales!"
Money doesn't grow on trees. It is not created out of thin air. Just tell us how we can keep more of it. Justin, here is the bottom line. The voters want to know how you are going to reduce taxes and meet the obligations of the County.
Unlike the Almighty, Justin, you can't speak the world into existence. It just doesn't work that way for us mere mortals. You're ideas are good but your strategy appears to be lacking. It sounds like you have convinced God. Now, you need to convince the voters. Impress us...hurry, you only have five months.

He was in the military according to the video, wasn't he?
Sorry, I forgot the comma, worded it all wrong, please don't call my high school English teacher.
I am not bashing Justin, that post was a compliment.

OH! Well I guess I got the wrong impression watching the video, sorry about that.
Maybe he should just put his credentials in print. Someone else said they saw no personal information about him on the website, so they must not have watched the video or thought the video was important.

It doesn't matter about his resume'. His character is most important. Vote him into office!

Wrong sometimer, folks want to know your past and what your history, experience and references are.
Lot's of politicians have been voted into office on charm and then they turned out to be scalawags.
