While I am here ;I checked with one election official and was told that 13000 dollars is cost to hold an election no matter how small .i.e. senseless alcohol vote which Paris rolled over . Paris is losing control because the people he appoints are surely turning against the dictator.

Why tell Lamar anything ?He already knows everything about all things; or so he thinks . What he does not know is who has turned against him to save their own hides from possible prison time . Remember Bill the ex mayor of Atlanta .Beautiful job dont you think ?

Rose;not only you but Eddie and those other troublemakers did not lie . They have absolute proof of their accusations period . Lamar needs to confront these people in controled town house meeting to clean the air .

Manape-- Thanks for the lecture on page four at 329 pm but did you not read the letter referred to in the beginning news section titled "Lamar declares war." The last paragraph pretty well speaks to both of those descriptions. The law protects the citizen from being sued by a public official for something they say about him. It doesn't protect the public official from slandering a citizen. sonny

No need to worry about townhall or any where else . Lamar is too much of a coward to face up to anyone .

I don't often come out and say negative things about officials, and I would certainly restrict it to the political section and encourage others to do the same, but since someone brought up talking to Lamar, has anyone ever tried talking to Lamar about a problem. If he doesn't like what you're saying he can be quite and I mean quite condescending. Like Bill Clinton, he has a smiling, charming public side, but also has an angry, foul mouthed side. Don't take my word for it, ask around. He can be very unprofessional. I cannot beleive some of the things he has said in his County Talks. People say, they don't want Lamar's job. Well, Lamar wants Lamar's job. And he wants to stay Sole Commissioner, and micromanage everything. Yes, everything. For example if you get a check from some faction of the county government ie. the clerk of courts office, it will be personally signed by Lamar. No wonder he doesn't have time to follow disclosure laws. Yet, he insists we need only one commissioner and no county manager. As for the alcohol vote, his language during the whole process led people, including the church groups to beleive that a NO vote would mean no alcohol in the county. All the while he was negotiating with the resort. But that is the State's doing he says. That's what he does, passess around the responsibility. If it is something good he will take credit for it. An example? Meeks Park, which was made possible largely due to previous commissioner Harold Cook, (by no means a model leader himself). If it is something bad, he will deflect the blame. Example: The jail, which is too small and in a terrible location. Arrangements had been made by Cook, but the jail was built under Lamar's administration. He could have changed the plans.

No county deserves a loan shark as manager and no county deserves the likes of Lamar Paris.

That's true, manape, about Lamar and the lies. I have not stated that Lamar has broken any laws. If I do, I'll provide proof. I did say that his poor people skills and know it all attitude has cost him many friends. He should take a tip from Tommy Stephens, a skilled politician.
As for Sonny and libel, that would be a waste of time. He would have to prove that Lamar's letter caused him financial harm or severly damaged his reputation. Since the comments were in a private letter, that ain't happening.

Once Lamar is removed from office and he can no longer use taxpayers money to defend himself ; I think the brown stuff shall hit the fans .
