Outrage over perceived Republican ethics violation!Dick Bell challenges the Republicans use of statistics "invented" to try to confuse tax payers, and you 'girly' men scream like a bunch of preteen adolescent little girls who are scared by a bee and you claim it is a hornet's nest. How adolescent of you. Be real men. As this ape with less than a fourth grade education has tried to tell you since bubba first published the statistic taxes per person is a statistic "invented" by the Republicans to deceive the voters. I don't know Dick Bell, but he has the boys to take on the Republican Party who pledged over a year ago to run over anyone who gets in their way. Isn't that right, Chuck? I don't care who Dick Bell is or if you are jealous because he is a friend of the Commissioner. The Incumbent Commissioner has many friends. What does this have to do with the FACT, that Republicans tried to use statistics to lie to the great Democratic-Republic of Union County? I'm referring to an article on the front page. Let me remind Justin and others that ethics define "socially acceptable behaviors" and the behavior of the Republican's will be judged on November 4, 2008. Furthermore in on the Frontpage article, I quote, "The NGN has long been criticized for being excessively biased in favor of Commissioner Paris. This action does not seem prudent and the general consensus is that the Cook Camp has solid grounds for a law suit and certainly ethics complaints." The above quote is yet another attempt to confuse the taxpayers of Union County, but we WILL NOT stand for "Damed Lies and Statistics" invented by the republicans to confuse us. When the curtains are drawn on November 4, 2008, you shall not run over the voters of Union County. The so called republican hornets nest is not a violation of any law. Granted they will invent a law that does not exist, just like they re-invent statistics. It is like saying, "135 people die each year due falling coconuts". There is no such statistic; it was only invented by some foolish person to deceive you. The key difference between laws and ethics is that laws carry the sanctions of a governing authority and ethics do not. You will not get very far with you alleged ethics violation that you report as FACT, as quoted below. How stupid is that? We have known about the statistic for some time, now. Long before the Article in the NGN, Harold Cook published on his website a statistic he calls taxes per person, not per capita. Using a statistic called "per person" instead of per capita is a statistic "invented" by Harold Cook's advisors to confuse the Democratic-Republic of Union County. Below you will find the statistic that Mr. Cook or his advisors invented. We all know taxes went up. However, the cause was increased crime, the need for more law enforcement officers, the need for more judges, etc. due to a population increase from 17,902 in 2000 to 21,500 in 2007 and increased costs of everything else since 2000. Clearly Mr. Cook is reality challenged. In the year 2000, with a population of 17,902, Mr. Cook's advisors invented a statistic called $134.76 PER PERSON to confuse the voters of Union County. In the year 2007, with a population of 21,500, Mr. Cook says the "Taxes per person" were $300.16. Granted, per capita used in the right way is important. Statistics 101 Per capita is a Latin phrase meaning for each head with Per meaning 'through' or 'by'...and...capita (sg.: caput) meaning 'heads'. Both words together equate to the phrase 'for each head'. I agree it is usually used in the field of statistics to indicate the average per person for any given concern, such as income, crime rate, etc. I agree that children are involved in crime and some earn income in the form of allowances, but they don't pay taxes on their allowances. The tax paying head of the household already paid taxes on their allowance. So, I ask the voters did the republicans attempt to use statistics to deceive us? You decide on November 4, 2008. I have made my decision to vote for Lamar Paris. It is like Charles Jenkins says, "Republicans lie."

My body is the temple of the Holy Spirit.
I will agree America is governed by fools. That's why I want to keep one out who is the "greater fool" because he accepts the advise of fools. It is called choosing the one who is more qualified to run our government. Before God we are all equally wise - and equally foolish.
An empty stomach is not a good political adviser. Republicans avoid the real issues by throwing up smoke screens. Your religion and your theology is the same religion that told us the world is flat and astronauts didn't land on the moon.
Sometimeman, I do not believe in your god of your theology who rewards good and punishes evil. I believe in the LORD God of Tim who is the Savior of all men, and especially to those who believe (The Church of Believers).
9This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance 10(and for this we labor and strive), that we have put our hope in the living God, who is the Savior of all men, and especially of those who believe. (1 Timothy 4 (New International Version)
The Great Spirit told us in I Timothy...not to follow the religion of the world of hypocritical liars...
1The Spirit clearly says that in later times some will abandon the faith and follow deceiving spirits and things taught by demons. 2Such teachings come through hypocritical liars, whose consciences have been seared as with a hot iron
Furthermore, God tells me not to seek the approval of men...He tells us to be a "good minister of Christ Jesus and to have nothing to do with godless myths...
6If you point these things out to the brothers, you will be a good minister of Christ Jesus, brought up in the truths of the faith and of the good teaching that you have followed. 7Have nothing to do with godless myths and old wives' tales; rather, train yourself to be godly. 8For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come.
It was never about religion or theology of men. It is about following Christ Jesus, not a religion. God has no religion. I know where his temple is and it is not in the meeting house. It is in my house.

Manape, my friend, you are indeed one of the hot and bothered ones. You don't usually get so flustered.
The local Republicans did not make up per capita comparisons as you well know. And Harold's use of them did not backfire in any way. His ad did not turn off one single undecided voter, but Bell's letter did! Bell and comany's ill advised actions were a gift to Cook as otherwise, Harold's ad would have passed with little notice. Afterall, does the average voter really care about numbers?
I do resent you saying that Chuck promised to run over people. He never, ever said that and even if you don't like Republicans, as a wounded veteran, Chuck deserves better than to have things made up about him. Chuck, is a kind, humble, Christian man and anyone that knows him, knows he would not say anything like that. It is a shame that apparently some have resorted to such mud smearing in a desperate attempt to keep the local Republicans down.
And, I can tell, Manape that you have already seen Harold's yet unpublished ad for this coming week. Amazing!!!
The local Republicans cut thru the smoke screens, right to the facts. The confusion campaign is being waged by some people from the other party. And I see that a nerve has been struck.
I just don't believe that Charles Jenkins would make a blanket statement that Republicans Lie. When did he say this? Or did you mispeak?
And don't think that I don't still love you, Manape, but you know how animated things get this close to election time. I don't think very many people lie, they just interpret things differently based on preconsceived ideas and beliefs. Harold believes what he says, and I think Mr. Paris and Mr. Bell believe what they say. And I applaud Mr. Bell taking the time to be involved and write up that letter, I just think it should have been held for a week and put with all the other letters.

Ape. The spirit you are sleeping with is like the woman in Jacobs tent on his wedding night. It is the wrong one!
Know ye not that to whom ye yield yourselves servants to obey, his servants ye are whom ye obey?
Wake up Ape! Christ never preached a sermon from the new testament nor did he ever go to Church on Sunday! Who you following? An imposter?

My wife is the only woman I sleep with.
My belief in Christ Jesus has nothing to do with sleeping with anybody, thought. It has to do with filtering truth from ALL that is written by men. If you don't like. I VOTE and I do not listen to those who try to use statistics to deceive the people. That includes the Commissioner, journalist, and poster's here on this thread.
We all know taxes increased. You don't have to tell us. It was due to the costs increases due to more crime and other costs the Commissioner has explained. Whether Norm squealed to Bell or not has nothing to do with the statistics that the republican party hides.
Yes, Justin, I am very passionate about TRUTH. So, get over it.

Ape, The Almighty God used the relation between a man and woman (wife) as a metaphor of the relation between him and his people. The complete book of Hosea and his harlot wife Goma illustrates this. Have you not heard, The "Bride of Christ" is the Church?
Have you not also read the admonition to "prove the spirits" whether they be of God or no. Ape, I don't know your wife and I question which god it is, that you think you know!

I am quite over it, Manape. But thank-you for the invitation. We all seek truth. But what is truth?
You and your crew are trying to hide statistics. We Republicans only brought light to more statistics. We were just contributing.
Commissioner Paris just needs to say, yes, we do have relatively high taxes, but here is why. This is exactly where the money is going. This is my vision for the county and if you will hang with me, you will see why it is that I do what I do.
And us low tax Republicans may not agree with all of his case, but it would be an open and honest debate. Without us low tax radicals questioning government spending practices, our taxes would be even higher.
And your arguement, that our budget had to rise 400% because Mr. Paris raised it 400%, just isn't going to work. That's like saying Iraq had to be invaded, you know how I know? Cause President Bush invaded Iraq.
I'm not a critical person and I know being commissioner is a tough job, but I do think leaders can save themselves a lot of trouble by just telling it like it is and telling the voters why. That is much better than doing like the Bush administration and running a permanent election campaign, where only carefully selected and well spinned information is released.

Also, I have not accussed anyone of lying. I think it is a disagreement on how to interpret the numbers. It has always been my experience that those who are quick to call others liars, are in fact liars themselves.

Speaking of numbers, whats the answer to the $ cost per arrest for the "criminal" element in Union County, that Commissioner Paris spends so much of our hard earned money attempting to control?

It has always been my experience that those who are quick to call others liars, are in fact liars themselves. Good for you Justin. I couldn't agree with you more. Personally, I have never called anyone on here a liar. I have only said there are those who use statistics in an attempt to fool voters, but don't worry about me. I only have one vote and zero-influence. It is the rest of the voters who will judge Mr. Cook and Mr. Paris on November 4, 2008. Furthermore, I have never said I don't like Republicans. It is the Republicans, Democrats, journalist and others who try to deceive the American people who earn my contempt. As a matter of FACT, I will be voting for a Republican President. I am only one APE who votes and I happen to be trained in statistics. What do I know? Plenty. Republican pseudo statistics, omission of data, and using a completely different data set of "taxes per person" for the purpose of misleading the people cannot fool me.

TO APE: AS A REPUBLICAN I can state, I don't care who you vote for in the Nov election for president. If you're a democrat, and you believe in the democrat principals, why aren't you voting for OBAMA. Your prejudice is showing>> We don't want you voting republican ticket AT ALL. A QUOTE FROM APE: Furthermore, I have never said I don't like Republicans. It is the Republicans, Democrats, journalist and others who try to deceive the American people who earn my contempt. As a matter of FACT, I will be voting for a Republican President.

By the way, those people who are democrats and are running on the democrat ticket (no matter who) have had the chance to run on the republican ticket. Knowing what is running on the democrat ticket, they should have switched. So I don't want to hear that you are voting just for the man, because whoever it is that is running on the democrat ticket had the chance to switch to republican.
