manape-(pooper) I don't have to look at you to understand your character, you have shown your true being with your vicious, sarcastic, demeaning ramblings that you are constantly posting. It’s easy to see you are an idiot.
If someone posts information that you don't like or it points out fallacies with the way things are done by our dictator, you go in your attack mode and try to belittle the person who wrote it. You don't give logical intelligent arguments so why should we pay any attention to you or any of the other names you post under.
To give the posters a lecture on being a good republican, when you are about as much a republican as Barney Frank, is a prime example. Sonny has a good slogan on the back of his truck “You can’t trust the message if you can’t trust the messenger.”
As far as the multi commissioner issue being a voting issue I completely disagree, been there and done that. I am and always have felt like my rights guaranteed under the constitution of this great country and this state are being denied when my legislative branch is taken away from me by a dictator type of government. If you read the U.S. or Ga. Constitutions most sane people would have to agree.
The other place where this county is hurting is with our newspapers. One is completely dominated by the powers and is so blatantly bias it rivals the old Pravda in communist Russia.
Think about it. The people don’t have any kind of checks and balances with this combination. We really need a staff of a newspaper that does an honest job of investigative reporting about issues that concern our community. NGN lets all kinds of stories go untold because they are ordered what to print. They intimidated Frank Bradley so bad he is afraid to print anything. We need help in these two areas and that is going to be my concern from here on out.

Well now, bubbabutt. I'm sorry you feel hurt by my post. You can dish it out, but you can't take it. Is that it? Anyway, that doesn't interest me.
It does interest me how that big brain figures that the government of Union County is against the constitution. Enlighten me, bubbabrain.
Tell this idiot how lawyers can form a more "perfect Union" County by forcing multiple commission board on Union County without the approval and consent of those governed (in other words, without the vote of we the people).

No, you don't have to enlighten anyone. I have read the constitution and for the life of me, I can't figure out how a sole-commissioner is against the constitution. I guess I will never know. Good luck on hiring that lawyer on getting multi-commissioners.

Here it is bubbabutt2. The constitution says we should have a Republican form of government, and we the people elected a Democrat, Lamar Paris. I see what you mean, now.
Section 4 - Republican government
The United States shall guarantee to every State in this Union a Republican Form of Government, and shall protect each of them against Invasion; and on Application of the Legislature, or of the Executive (when the Legislature cannot be convened) against domestic Violence.
No, wait bubblebutt!!! Here is the definition of a republic, below. It doesn't say any thing about two-bit lawyers, though. It says a government in which the supreme power is held by the citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives governing according to law. So, I guess I am a republican.
According to Harold Crook's 2000 audit report (reference page 5A, of the NGN... October 29, 2008) Harold Cook broke the law. Evidently, a whopping 60% of the people agreed with me, when they elected Paris in 2008. Also, Cook used SPLOST funds for the general budget which is also against the law. I would say us republicans who didn't elect a law breaker did our Patriotic duty according to the CONSTITUTION of The UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. We didn't elect your law breaker. Sorry, you lost.
Call us idiots if you want, but the true republicans kicked your party's azz and don't you fer-get it, bubbabuttID-10T!!! ;D
Republic republic n 1 : a government having a chief of state who is not a monarch and is usually a president; also : a nation or other political unit having such a government 2 : a government in which supreme power is held by the citizens entitled to vote and is exercised by elected officers and representatives governing according to law; also : a nation or other political unit having such a form of government Source: NMW
In the context of the United States, both definitions apply.

Since bubbabutt-II has clammed up on me and doesn't have to explain anything, I'm doing my own research and debate with myself.
From Wikipedia.....
A sole commissioner government is a county commission with only one seat. Sole commissioners typically hold all legislative and executive powers in the county. Even as with one commissioner there is no voiced debate among the commission, sole commissioners typically hold meetings to allow public input on decisions.
Does a multi-commission allow input from the public on decisions?
Union County has monthly county meetings where the public is allowed. Isn't this a government closer to the people?

Awfully weak on your argument. He has monthly meetings alright. He informs people mostly about what he has done, not much about what he is going to do. Good dictators do that.
Notice he turns off the camera when the public can voice their opinion? Now I wonder why he would do that? (love to read this answer)
The hearings he has that he is required to have are really a joke and a waste of time. His mind is made up already and probably has the paper work already signed. Probably really irks him that he has to go through the ritual. The public isn't stupid, they know he has already made up his mind.
Bet if there were 5 commissioners up there having a good debate on some controversial issue the public would be there in mass to observe.

Ape, it is amazing what you believe when you read the trash in the NGN. These items in the audit are suggestions that needed to be corrected. No Ga LAW was broken. However, if you want to go into what Laws Paris's has broken, including (OCGA law of not informing the public in the legal organ what monies had been spent on SPLOST projects, not keeping his promises to the citizens, and many other laws that he has broken, then you are wrong about "we didn't elect a law breaker". Over 4,000 people thought so, and those over 4,000 people are going to be asking questions. I don't think his next four years will be a picnic.
You leave Harold Cook alone. Of all the people who ran, Harold is one of the honest and loyal citizens of Union County.
You could see this if you tried. All candidates that ran for commissioner, indorsed Harold. Even Mr. Gooch, the former commissioner, indorsed Harold.

Gentlemen, I'm not into public official worship. Harold fought a good fight and I respect him for that.
Tell the public in general and concise terms why you want a commission board. Define the problem.
