Cheaper than starting from scratch, coosa. At least that gives some work to construction people.

A couple have been working on a house down the street from me for almost a year, just doing a little work here and there. Now there's a "for sale" sign up in the yard because they couldn't afford to keep the place and the bank foreclosed on it. It really makes me wonder who is more at fault, the couple for buying the place knowing that it would be hard for them to make the payments or the bank for lending them the money knowing that it would be hard for them to make the payments.

It really is, but it's happening to alot of people. Even "big name" developers are having properties foreclosed on.

Yes, I know a developer that has been around a long, long time and he is being foreclosed on. I am glad there are some remodling jobs going!

So sad. And people say we're not in trouble with the economy. They watch too much Faux news if you ask me!

I saw on a website last night the officials are now using the "R" word... it's about time they admitted what the rest of us already know!

Just read an article about this area. There are 2642 homes for sale, in the four county area. That would be Gilmer, Fannin, Union and Towns! The average home price in Fannin was $315,000 in 2007 and in Union, $227,000.
