We need them, some of the local businesses need some competition.

The Murphy Wal Mart sure was crowded when I went there Friday evening, I don't think one here in Blairsville would hurt their business a bit.

I went to the Walmart in Dahlonega this morning and it was crowded for a Monday! That just proves the point that Blairsville really needs one!!!

Wal-Mart will come some day and it will change Blairsville forever.

Wal-Mart will come some day and it will change Blairsville forever. Absolutely right, I think it will change it for the better. Some disagree with me though.

It will make it bigger and busier...

That is already happening zhelton. It can be good or bad depending on how you look at it. I personally would like to see more retail and industry and less subdivisions.

As far as I know Wal Mart is still planning on building, has anyone heard anything lately? There's still for sale signs up at the property but from what I understand wal mart has it under contract.

I've got the solution for the people who don't want wal mart to build here. When they open the store the rest of us can shop there, but the ones who didn't want it can buy their things at other places for 2x the price.

Walmart is coming. They have already submitted their plans to the county for approval. Heard they weighed 65 pounds. Can't wait. Expect to see grading begin any day.

Just what we need more traffic and more people talking on their cell phones while driving and shopping. More trash, more pollution, more big trucks, more wear and tear on the highways and bridges. Less trees, grass and foliage.
Murphy Wal-Mart has people from more counties going to it, not just Blairsville. Everyone from Andrews on up past Robbinsville.
Blairsville Wal-Mart will have Union County and Towns County and a samll smattering of Fannin county. And depending on the location some folks from Blairsville will keee using the Murphy Wal-Mart because it will still be closer and they can also get their booze while in North Carolina.
If they build one in Blairsville and I am in town for some odd reason then I will probably use it, but I will keep going to the Murphy Wal-Mart. I don't see any benefits that having a box store in our county will bring to us.
I have nothing against Wal-Mart, my daddy has purchased my kids stock in it, but I still don't want one here.
If you wany easy access to the big city ways, then you should have built closer to the big city.
