News! Randall Allen went back to work for Scott. Doug Loyd is trying to get hired as a Deputy at the Towns County Sheriff's Office with no luck. The other guy was invited to tour the 911 system and did, Scott Stephens found out and blew his cool. Made treats to have everyone fired. Scott made the statement that his hole department is against him. BooHoo..... Ha FiveO, why would he make "treats" and what kind of treats? Cookies, brownies, eclairs? What is his "hole" department? Is that the john?

You sure are one busy "employee of the Sheriff's Department"
Are you posting this information on taxpayers time or your own???
By the way you need to use spell checker on Topix also.

I will bet those treats were some confiscated food Scott made on one of his bust and stole from the hole evidence locker.

Thanks for the advise. And yes, they were cookie from the last bust. Let see, what is going on today. Same old same old. Missing evidence, sex scandals in the jail, Doug and the Sheriff hanging out with recently arrested well know drug dealer. They are planing fund raiser at Pappys.

At a local meeting last night, the Republican Party said NO to Doug Loyd. Called him a Rhino candidate. Doug did not return their calls to come to the meeting. Wow! Way to get elected Doug. Cool flames on your web page Doug, did you hire a teenager to design that for you? Nice SWAT uniform. How many search warrants have you prepared and served? See Ya.

Qualifying for the Sheriff's race is April 28 through May 2. As far as I know, the only two people that have filed their Intent To Run with the Probate Judge is Scott Stephens (D) and Tom Jones (R). Doug Loyd indicated in the paper that he was running. I know we don't like rumors, but here it is. Doug is a (D), he first said he was running (I), then (D) now (R). The (R) has caught wind of this and are not for him. My opinion: The Sheriff is for sure in the race because he has been in office for seven years. Tom Jones is for sure in the race because he has been campaigning for over eight months and has locked-in the (R) party endorsement. Doug is far behind and under funded. The Sheriff is in the newspaper all the time now and Tom Jones is out all the time meeting people and business. Tom Jones even has a roadside billboard going up.

Maybe Doug Loyd was just looking for attention and didn't get it, from the voters or the Sheriff's office.
When I hear Tom Jones I think Tom Jones the entertainer in "What's New Pussycat?"
What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah Pussycat, Pussycat I've got flowers And lots of hours To spend with you. So go and powder your cute little pussycat nose! Pussycat, Pussycat I love you Yes, I do! You and your pussycat nose! What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah Pussycat, Pussycat You're so thrilling And I'm so willing To care for you. So go and make up your cute little pussycat face! Pussycat, Pussycat I love you Yes, I do! You and your pussycat face! What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah What's new pussycat? Woah, Woah Pussycat, Pussycat You're delicious And if my wishes Can all come true I'll soon be kissing your sweet little pussycat lips! Pussycat, Pussycat I love you Yes, I do! You and your pussycat lips! You and your pussycat eyes! You and your pussycat nose!

A couple of the posts I have read concerned the lack of Meth Labs that have been found. The meth problem has changed somewhat in the past several years. With the influx of the hispanic population, particularly in the Dalton area, it has become much more cost effective to import from Mexico than make at home. The Hispanic gangs from Dalton bring in pounds, distribute into the community, "to the whites" and it makes its way east toward blairsville. Now Im not saying some isnt made in home labs, or come from other areas, but the majority I assure you comes via Dalton and Atlanta. Im not knocking the hispanic population, not at all, I am saying that the labs are not in the community as they were before. The meth that is seen now is not the "bathtub meth" that was seen in the early 90's, it is crystal meth, a much more potent type. It is most typical to see the hispanic gangs distribute meth, although few hispanics actually use, they are more likely to be users of marijuana and cocaine. They take advantage of the white americans who are addicted. Also, do not take likely the growing problem of prescription abuse, and sales. The growing trend is the sale of common prescription pills, which can bring a big price on the street, and effects households as much as meth. I assure you it is much easier, and common, for a child to get high out of the medicine cabinet than from meth. With that said, obviously meth use fuels a large percentage of crime in our communities. And a growing trend is the theft of metals, copper etc, which is bringing record prices.
Whoever is sheriff or becomes sheriff should not run off a platform of cracking down on meth labs. While that is obviously important, dont be behind the learning curve. It is being imported from super labs in mexico. As border security becomes tighter, if ever, then there will be a return to community meth labs.
Someone once said to me, "do you know what an expert is? Someone from outta town" It is easy to walk into a community and began tellin the locals how to solve their problems. Perhaps one should check the crime stats from the "experts" past community. Is it crime free now? If so, hey you got me, but I think its not. Crime is rising in all communities, and with the super rapid expansion of Blairsville comes problems specific to population increases. It is easy to play armchair quarterback, heck if Tom Brady had listened to my play calling the Pats would be champions now, but it isnt that easy.

meth ---""It is being imported from super labs in mexico. As border security becomes tighter, if ever, then there will be a return to community meth labs.""
The super highway will open the doors free of border security once built. Contraband of all kinds will flow freely from South America through Mexico into the United States and on into Canada..
Land already is being purchased via eminent domain out west to build this highway.
You can thank George Bush for the downfall of America, it's his idea of free trade.
I'm the sorriest rascal in the world for voting for him.

Silverback, I have been reading the posts and once again I believe your comments make more sense than most. I think you have insights that would be of benefit to law enforcement agencies. Have you thought about moving to Blairsville and running for Sheriff? I seriously think it is worth considering. If you would venture there, I would probably relocate just so I could vote for you. If you are not ready for such a change, you could consider consulting. I am thinking about visiting Blairsville again very soon. I will look for "Vote for Silverback" signs.

Ahh, now y'all have done gone and ticked Norm off and made him write a "viewpoint" about people who talk about the sheriff on the internets.
