I believe this section is “Law Enforcement”, website police. These comments about Doug Loyd are of great concern because they concern the Sheriff’s race which is law enforcement. If you don’t like, why don’t you move on. For myself, I am glad that someone has taken the time to make us aware about Mr. Loyd’s financial problems. I am not glad to hear about it, but he should have taken this into consideration before to entering into the race. It shows a great lack of management skills on his part. The forum grouping is listed as Law Enforcement, but THIS topic is "Thanks To Union County's Finest". For those of you who are here only to bash Scott, the County & City LE force, and the candidates...why won't ya'll sign up as members and start the appropriate topic(s), instead of ghosting here with the hit and run posts?? Exactly, ruby! Thank you! It's not that we want to censor any of your postings! Just start an appropriately titled thread!

Thanks Ruby.
As for the guest there is a Doug Loyd topic, take your complaints there.
I don't know Doug Loyd, but if he is or was a police officer then he deserves our thanks, because he is out there protecting us.
Along with Scott and everyone else.
I just don't think I could deal with the stress that I could pull someone over for a speeding ticket and wonder if I am going to get shot when I walk up to the car window.
Or someone starts talking trash to me and spitting on me and all I can do is Yes and No them and keep being polite.
Strange the very ones you are trashing are the very ones that make sure you get your First Amendment rights along with the rest of the rights, while they are not allowed to tell you exactly what they are thinking about you, you can spout off anything to them.
SO THANKS TO THE LAW OFFICERS OF UNION COUNTY.

Well, not trying to add fuel to the fire but the patrol car that some people claim Scott wrecked and that was hauled to old smokey rd is now sitting in front of the tech school with the top cut off of it.

Well I was really aggravated after a call from my son this weekend.
Ther were camping so he had to make a couple of trips to get some stuff.
He drives a red car so he was automatically pulled out of a road block to be questioned at random. He is used to that.
First they gave him all of the DUI tests, blowing, counting, ABC's walking, he hadn't been drinking. Passed the test.
Well then they bluffed him and said "We are going to run the drug dog around your car" He stepped back and said "Go ahead" Volunteering to let them run it inside as well as the outside. The car passed the test.
So to cover their butt's they write him a ticket saying his window tinting is too dark, even thought he pointed out vehicles going through the road block with darker tinting than his. Even their own patrol cars was darker than his.
He never got smart with them and did everything they asked.
Later that night he went through a GA State Patrol road block, got pulled over (the red car again) they did the DUI test and everything, no problem, no tickets. They didn't say a word about his window tinting.
THIS VOTER IS PISSED.

That happens alot bee, they need to feel justified. You could be driving home in a brand new car and I promise that a cop could find an excuse to ticked you for something if he/she really wanted to. It goes back to what I said about SOME, not all, of our deputies. In this situation I think change needs to start at the bottom and not at the top.

Last night as a sat in Cobb's Mill parking lot waiting to meet Bee, I saw a yellow jeep blow past a school bus that had stopped to let kids off... the "stop" arm was extended and the red lights flashing on the bus. Thank goodness the kid that got off the bus was not crossing the street yet! I was thinking "where is a cop when you need one" when I saw one of Blairsville's finest pulling out from the PD lot with the emergency lights on(this happened almost in front of the PD!) The officer took off after the jeep. I didn't see the traffic stop, but assume that driver was ticketed. At least I hope so! Thanks for seeing this violation and hopefully that driver will think twice about endangering our kids!

Our commisioner donates plenty! He is at every charity event, socializing, entertaining and having fun not politicing and is very generous to Meals on Wheels. Our sheriff's department is much respected throughout the state and much of the Eastern US. They did not grandstand during last year's tragedy but humbly got the job done. The whole community worked together and Walasi yi was great throughout and I am proud of all.
