I've been meaning to get my permit for several years now. I pack in my back pocket when I'm at the bike rallys. Yea I'm a safety girl. ROFLMFAO
I would really like to upgrade to a bigger more powerful pistol but finances just wont allow it.

I am surprised that a safety course is not required. I think passing a LEO fire arms course would suffice, even if it was a lot of years ago, lol... Guess I will go down to get my permit. And Bee, I am comfortable handling a hand gun. I am not crazy about shotguns even though I learned to use one, though. Since I am not planning to carry a concealed shotgun, I guess that's OK.

While doing some research for an article, I spoke with an ATF agent who gave me this site to look over. There is LOT"S of info and well worth the read. It kind of takes the "legalese" and translates it for us common folks. You can look at rules and regulation for any county in Georgia! georgiapacking.org/

Well made the trip to Bville this am before work and guess what, they can't find my papers.
HHMMM. Somewhat aggravating for me, especially when I had to keep telling her the same reason over and over. The printer at the jail wasn't working, they dropped them off her on Wednesday and blah blah blah. So now I am waiting on a call to see if they have found them, if not I have to start over from step 1. Luckily they are now computerized and all should be on file.
If i was a conspiracy theorist I would think they are plotting on me.
5 years ago I applied for a permit, paid, fingerprinted, the whole 9 yards. Then I waited and waited an waited. Calling every week to see if it had been received yet. The same thing well, we haven't seen it. Finally after 3 months I called and got the same tired old story and ask the girl in the office, "Just where do you send it to" well she drug around and finally gave me the information, but wouldn't give me the phone number, said she wasn't allowed to.
Thank you Jesus for the INTERNET.
Spoke to a very nice lady in Atlanta and she took my number and said she would call me back. Imagine my surprise when she said "Honey, they have had your paperwork for 2 months". I then called back to the probate judges office and told them what the Atlanta lady had said and they disagreed saying they had received nothing from Atlanta. I then called the Atlanta lady back and she told me to hold on just a minute. She then put me on hold and call the girls in the office. In just a few minutes she got back on the phone with me and said, "Guess what, they found it. They have had it for awhile, and this is not the first issue we have had with that particular county" In about 5 minutes I got a call "We found it, it had just come in the mail and you can come and get it." They never had a clue that the lady from Atlanta had me on hold and told me the whole story.
However, I don't think those same women are still employed up there. Just have to wait and see.

How long had it been since you were fingerprinted and when they came back?

They never got sent off this time. They are "lost" at the probate judges office.
I went in to sign the cards so they could be mailed to the state and they can't find them. I haven't gotten a call from them so I am going to call them to see if they have located them.
Gee it's a good thing I am not in fear of my life..

OK get ready for this one!!!! Haven't heard from the judges office. Called the probate judges office and was told "Oh you don't have to sign them" because the fingerprints were done electronically. They are still over at the jail. Called the jail to do a follow up and was told it could take 6-8 months to get them it's up to the probate judges office. I then asked why it took 6-8 months to get from the jail to the probate judges office and was told when they finished it at the jail it would get over there. I was also told that no one gets them in a couple of weeks and it's being handled. WHAT'S THE FRICKIN PROBLEM HERE? ??
