It just means that I won't get to vote for him unless he beats Liemar in the primary.

What is Liemar's platform ape? "Reelect me and I promise that I'll continue to raise your taxes and give you nothing in return" sounds like a good slogan for him. Or maybe he'll go with the ole "Just one more term" line that someone else has used for the past several elections.

Liemore platform is what ever he's standing on!
Lately, more and more, he's been standing on uncommon ground!

Gahillbilly, I'm only interested in who can lead the best. The hardworking people of UC deserve the best.
There are a lot of challenges that face our community.
So much of the local economy depended on building. What I'm looking for is a more diverse economy.
What will impress me is a candidate with vision and a plan to achieve that vision.

There are two schools of thought prevalent in these political forums.
Those who believe their money is theirs, that government is to serve the people by fair taxation, with services the people can't provide for themselves, that special interest has no place in getting tax-payers monies. We believe when government is too big, it becomes oppressive, it takes away the rights of citizens and has too much control over the lives of the people. We believe the people should be free from the burden of government to pursue their livelihood and dreams by free enterprise without interference from government and excessive taxation. We believe in honesty in government. We believe it is the duty of voters to kick these people out of office when government fails in the above.
The other thought is belief that government should provide for the people, that government knows best how to manage the lives of the people, that government is to support the people financially by taking money from them to spend however they see fit and by wasting tax-payers dollars, that government is for managing private entities and supporting special interest, that government should be pervasive in the lives of people, that government institute speech control on certain subjects, that the people should go to the government for handouts, that the people should be TOTALLY dependent on government. It is the duty of citizens to kick these people out of office also who pursue the above.
The first group is made up mostly of independents, republicans, libertarians, old-line democrats, mainly any person who loves freedom from oppressive government and taxation.
The second group is made up mainly of modern day democrats.
So classify yourself by the above criteria and find out if you are a closet democrat or closet republican. COME OUT OF THE CLOSET.

I am a Republican. "and to the republic, for which it stands" is part of our pledge. George Bush is not a Republican. He is a fascist thats ruined America.
Democrats are pimps and prostitutes. They will sell their grandmother.
Ron Paul is the only Republican in the race VOTE RON PAUL!

Excellent post ape. Give us some more in depth ideas, what are your suggestions to make the economy more diverse? Spending money on the golf course and big fancy county buildings isn't diverse in my opinion. Lamar says it will bring in more tourists and maybe he is right, but the ways doesn't justify the means in our case. And naturally with a recession tourism will decline instead of increase. Am I right or wrong?
