I agree with you entirely ape. There will be people in hell who went to church everytime the door was open and there will be people in heaven who never darkened the doors of a church. Being a baptist, methodist, catholic, or seventh day adventist isn't what gets you into heaven. It all comes down to whether or not each individual has made one important decision or not. The good book says that where two or more are gathered in his name that he is in their midst. My beliefs are mostly aligned with the baptists also but that doesn't matter to God, God is non-denominational. Don't get me wrong, doctrines are important but we shouldn't let them come between us and God. I'm not trying to argue with anyone, I'm just saying what I think.

Yes, I agree it is important to find a group of people who will encourage you, worship with you, and help you meet your spiritual needs? It is important to find a "a church I can breathe in."

I believe we can be the church of the people in my house, the Waffle House, and the million dollar building but don't expect the lost to come to you. The important thing is to establish groups of friends to worship with. The lecture hall church is OK, but it is not OK for some of those who really need answers to life's questions. We must go to them. They will not come to our million dollar buildings. The church is were we come in contact with people and establish relationships with them.

When "King James" of England authorized the scriptures to be printed, the English alphabet did not contain a letter "J". A bigger question in my mind is "Which of these children failed to understand that Yahshua (now called Jesus with a "J") is the Sabbath? He said, "come unto me and I will give your rest." Did He say, know you not that your body is the Temple of the Holy Ghost?" Is Christ not the Sabbath??? Are we not HIS Temple, as the bible says. How can we go to church...are we who call upon the name of Jesus his church, the body of believers?

Where do you go to temple on Saturday, sometimeman. Where do you worship? Are we His Temple? Does He live within His creation, or the man-made temples made with lumber, concrete, bricks and mortar? We were bread by man and woman, sometimer, but we are His creation.

Manapes build million dollar temples while the manapes down the street go hungry. Do you go to the people, sometimeman? Do you build HIS Church or do you tear it down by a thousand rules legalism, dogma, tradition, and chains that make us slaves to men? Is your salvation CHRIST plus nothing (by Grace) or is your salvation by grace plus legalism of the right day, holidays of atonement, the right name, etc. These things are good, but is the sacrifice on the cross void if we slip up and don't go to church on the right day or don't say his name exactly right? Moses couldn't talk plain. Did he go to hell because he couldn't say the Yahshua's name correctly? I think NOT! It is an unconditional gift. He told me his name is Jesus.

His Temple was destroyed by the arrogance and ignorance of the mob mentality and religious leaders of the day, and built by HIM the third day. Jesus is the Sabbath. Worship him in the meeting place on Saturday, but Worship Him Sunday, Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, also. Be the church, sometimeman!

Diocese to pay $198 million to settle abuse claims

The Roman Catholic Diocese of San Diego has reached a $198.125 million settlement with 144 people who were sexually abused by Catholic priests and church workers. Story coming momentarily.

The announcement capped marathon discussions (See story from this morning's U-T) between lawyers for the diocese and the victims, who are to receive $1.37 million each.

Church officials had filed for bankruptcy reorganization, but recent court rulings pressured them to settle the case.
